ආධුනික ඖෂධවේදීන් ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම සඳහා මාර්ගගත සම්මුඛ පරීක්ෂණ අවස්ථා 2026 අප්‍රේල් 2 වන දින සිට 2026 මැයි 15 දින ,පස්වරු 4.00 දක්වා විවෘතව පවතින බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා වෛද්‍ය සභාව මෙයින් දැනුම් දෙයි.

සියලුම අයදුම්කරුවන් SLMC නිල වෙබ් අඩවියෙන් බාගත කර ලබා ගත හැකි නව සංශෝධිත සහ යාවත්කාලීන කරන ලද අයදුම්පත් ආකෘතිය භාවිතා කරමින් තම අයදුම්පත් ඉදිරිපත් කළ යුතුය.

පැරණි ආකෘති භාවිතා කර ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද අයදුම්පත් කිසිදු තත්වයක් යටතේ පිළිගනු නොලැබේ.

අයදුම්කරුවන් වෙන් කරන ලද සම්මුඛ පරීක්ෂණ දිනය සහ වේලාවෙහි SLMC කාර්යාල පරිශ්‍රයට නොවරදවාම පැමිණිය යුතුයි.

⚖️ | How to Make a Complaint to Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC)

While the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) is vested with the mandate to initiate disciplinary inquiries against healthcare professionals registered with it, such inquiries may only be initiated if the procedural requirements stipulated in the Medical Disciplinary (Procedure) Regulations 1990 have been duly satisfied.

As per regulation 3 of the above Regulations, no complaint or report against a practitioner shall be entertained unless such complaint or report:
* Is preferred by means of a written statement addressed to the Registrar setting out the facts or matters alleged against the practitioner and

* In case where such complaint alleges infamous conduct in any professional respect/ negligence / incapacity relating to professional duties, should be supported by an affidavit as to the facts or matters alleged in such complaint or report.

Provided however, that where such complaint or report is made by a person acting in a public capacity, the requirement for verifying affidavit is dispensed with.

The expression ‘ person acting in public capacity ’ means the Vice Chancellor or the Registrar of any University established under the Universities Act, No. 16 of 1978 or the head of a Government Department or the Mayor of any Municipality or the Chairman of any Urban Council or Pradeshiya Sabha or the Registrar.

⚖️ | ශ්‍රී ලංකා වෛද්‍ය සභාව (SLMC) වෙත පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කල යුතු ආකාරය.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා වෛද්‍ය සභාව (SLMC) වෙත එහි ලියාපදිංචි වී ඇති වෛද්‍යවරුන්/වෘත්තිකයන්ට එරෙහිව විනය පරීක්ෂණ ආරම්භ කිරීමේ බලය එම සභාවට හිමි වුවද, එවැනි පරීක්ෂණ ආරම්භ කළ හැක්කේ 1990 වසරේ වෛද්‍ය විනය (ක්‍රියා පටිපාටි) නියෝගයේ නියමිත ක්‍රියා පටිපාටි අවශ්‍යතා සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබේ නම් පමණි.

ඉහත නියෝග රෙගුලාසියෙහි 2 (3) වන නියෝගය අනුව, කිසිදු වෛද්‍යවරයෙකුට එරෙහි පැමිණිල්ලක් හෝ වාර්තාවක් පහත සඳහන් කොන්දේසි සපුරාලන තෙක් සලකා බැලීමට නොගනී:

අ) එම පැමිණිල්ල හෝ වාර්තාව, වෛද්‍යවරයාට එරෙහිව චෝදනා කරන කරුණු හෝ සිදුවීම් පැහැදිලිව සඳහන් කරමින් ලිඛිත ප්‍රකාශයක්/පැමිණිල්ලක් ලෙස වෛද්‍ය සභාවේ ලේඛකාධිකාරි වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කළ යුතුය ; සහ

ආ) එකී ලිඛිත පැමිණිල්ල කිසියම් වෘත්තීය කරුණක් සම්බන්ධ අපකීර්තිමත් හැසිරීමක් හෝ වෘත්තීය යුතුකම්වලට සම්බන්ධ පැහැර හැරීමක් හෝ අයෝග්‍යවීමක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් වන විට, ලිඛිත පැමිණිල්ලේ නගා ඇති චෝදනාව හා ඊට අනුගත සිද්ධිය සනාථ කෙරෙන පැමිණිල්ලේ දිනයම දරණ දිවුරුම් ප්‍රකාශයක්ද ලිඛිත පැමිණිල්ල සමඟ යොමු කල යුතුයි.

එහෙත්, එම පැමිණිල්ල හෝ වාර්තාව රාජ්‍ය නිලතලයෙන් ක්‍රියා කරන පුද්ගලයෙකු විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලැබේ නම්, දිවුරුම් ප්‍රකාශයක් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවයෙන් නිදහස් කර ඇත.

මෙහි “ රාජ්‍ය නිලතලයෙන් ක්‍රියා කරන පුද්ගලයෙකු ” යන්නෙන් අදහස් වන්නේ 1978 අංක 16 දරන විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පනත යටතේ ස්ථාපිත කර ඇති විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයක උපකුලපතිවරයා හෝ රෙජිස්ට්‍රාර්වරයා, රජයේ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවක ප්‍රධානියා, මහ නගර සභාවක නගරාධිපතිවරයා, නාගරික සභාවක හෝ ප්‍රාදේශීය සභාවක සභාපතිවරයා හෝ රෙජිස්ට්‍රාර්වරයා ය.

ආධුනික ඖෂධවේදී ලියාපදිංචිය සඳහා සේවක අර්ථසාධක අරමුදල් (EPF) සහ සේවක භාර අරමුදල් (ETF) අංක ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම අනිවාර්ය බව මීට පෙර ප්‍රකාශ කර තිබුණද, 2025 දෙසැම්බර් 01වන දින සිට බලපැවැත්වෙන පරිදි ආධුනික ඖෂධවේදී ලියාපදිංචිය සඳහා මෙම අවශ්‍යතාවය තවදුරටත් අනිවාර්ය නොවන බව කරුණාවෙන් සලකන්න.

මෙම වෙනස අදාළ වන්නේ ආධුනික ඖෂධවේදී කාණ්ඩය යටතේ ලියාපදිංචි කිරීම් සඳහා පමණි. දැනටමත් EPF/ETF අංක ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති අයදුම්කරුවන්ට එම ලේඛන තම අයදුම්පත්‍රයේ තබා ගත හැකිය; එවැනි ලේඛන පිළිගැනීම දැනටමත් සපයා ඇති තැන්වල දිගටම පවතිනු ඇත, නමුත් ඉදිරියට යාමට ඒවා අනිවාර්ය නොවේ.

Revising a mandatory requirement for Apprentice Pharmacist Registration

Please be informed that although the submission of Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF) numbers had previously been stated as mandatory for Apprentice Pharmacist registration, this requirement will no longer be mandatory for Apprentice Pharmacist registration with effect from 1st December 2025.

This change applies only to registrations under the Apprentice Pharmacist category. Applicants who have already submitted EPF/ETF numbers may retain those documents in their application; acceptance of such documents will continue where already provided, but going forward, they are optional.

⚠️ | UNETHICAL ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONS

It has come to the attention of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) that certain registrants have been advertising and promoting unverified treatment methods and medication through various media in an unethical manner. It is also noted that unrealistic claims on recovery have been made to substantiate the promoted treatment method or medication, thereby endangering patient safety and corroding the trust placed in the healthcare system.

Accordingly, registrants are reminded to strictly adhere to the Guidelines on Ethical Conduct for registered Medical and Dental Practitioners and the Social Media Guidelines published by the Sri Lanka Medical Council when engaging in advertising and promotions. The above Guidelines are available for reference on the official website of the SLMC, accessible through https://slmc.gov.lk/en/ethics.

Please be informed that failure to strictly adhere to the above Guidelines constitutes professional misconduct which lays the foundation to initiate disciplinary action under the Medical Disciplinary (Procedure) Regulations 1990.

Ceremonial Administration of the Medical Practitioners’ and Dental Surgeons’ Oath – September 2025

The Sri Lanka Medical Council successfully conducted the Oath Ceremony for newly registered medical practitioners on 20th September 2025 at the Main Auditorium, UCFM Tower, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary – Medical Services, Ministry of Health and Mass Media, together with the Vice President Dr. Chandika Epitakaduwa, Council Members, Registrar, Asst. Registrar, SLMC Staff and distinguished invitees.

The ceremony marked the official induction of newly graduated doctors completing their internship, pledging to uphold the highest standards of the medical profession.
Highlights from the day include the participation of the Council, Chief Guest, and the proud new members of the medical profession.

ஜூலை 5 ஆம் திகதி கொழும்பு பண்டாரநாயக்க ஞாபகார்த்த சர்வதேச மாநாட்டு மண்டபத்தில் (BMICH) நடைபெற்ற இலங்கை மருத்துவ சங்கத்தின் (SLMC) நூற்றாண்டு விழாவில் கலந்துகொண்ட வேளையில்..

"Let's also remember that healthcare is not just a service. It is a social necessity. In the case of medicine, this responsibility becomes even more critical, because here, we are dealing with life itself."
