KOFIH Sri Lanka Office works closely with the Government of Sri Lanka and health sector stakeholders to strengthen the national health system.
From 26 to 30 January 2026, the Mid-Term Evaluation of the project “Capacity Building of Bio-Medical Engineering Services in Sri Lanka” was conducted with participation from the Republic of Korea evaluation team and representatives of the KOFIH.
During the evaluation, the team met Ministry of Health officials from Biomedical Engineering Services to discuss the current status of biomedical equipment management, challenges in maintenance and inventory, and project progress including workshop development, equipment procurement, and use of mobile workshop vehicles.
High-level discussions were held with the Additional Secretary (Engineering) and Additional Secretary (Development) on project progress, Medical Equipment Inventory Management System (MEIMS) development, capacity-building programmes such as the Biomedical Engineering Master’s Degree and short-term training, and future directions. The team also inspected workshop facilities and functionality.
The team visited the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, to review MEIMS development and capacity-building initiatives for biomedical professionals, and observed laboratory facilities.
At the Provincial Director of Health Services (PDHS) office in the Southern Province, the team reviewed the status of biomedical engineering services, inspected service units and the KOFIH-donated mobile workshop vehicle, and discussed maintenance practices, operations, and service management with engineering staff.
During the visit to the PDHS office of the North Central Province in Anuradhapura, discussions were held on biomedical engineering services and equipment management, and the Regional Director of Health Service (RDHS) presented a letter of appreciation to the KOFIH Country Representative.
The team conducted site visits and discussions with staff at District General Hospital Matara, Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, Galnewa Divisional Hospital, and Thambuththegama Base Hospital. They observed equipment management practices, inspected devices such as gas analysers, defibrillators, and mobile X-ray machines, and discussed maintenance procedures, inventory systems, and challenges related to spare parts and service agreements.
These meetings and field visits provided valuable insights for the Mid-Term Evaluation and reaffirmed strong collaboration between KOFIH, the Ministry of Health, Biomedical Engineering Services, and stakeholders.
KOFIH continually contributes to the health service improvements in Sri Lanka.
කොරියා ජාත්‍යන්තර සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා පදනමෙහි ශ්‍රී ලංකා කාර්යාලය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජාතික සෞඛ්‍ය පද්ධතිය ශක්තිමත් කිරීම සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජය සහ සෞඛ්‍ය අංශයේ කොටස්කරුවන් සමඟ සමීප සහයෝගීතාවයකින් කටයුතු කරයි.
2026 ජනවාරි 26 සිට 30 දක්වා, "ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජෛව වෛද්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු සේවාවල ධාරිතාව ගොඩනැගීම" ව්‍යාපෘතියේ මධ්‍ය කාලීන ඇගයීම කොරියානු ජනරජ ඇගයීම් කණ්ඩායමේ සහ කොරියා ජාත්‍යන්තර සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා පදනමෙහි නියෝජිතයින්ගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පවත්වන ලදී.
ඇගයීම් කාලසීමාව තුළ දී, ජෛව වෛද්‍ය උපකරණ කළමනාකරණයේ වත්මන් තත්ත්වය, නඩත්තු කිරීමේ සහ ඉන්වෙන්ටරි පවත්වාගැනීමේ ඇති අභියෝග සහ වැඩහල් සංවර්ධනය, උපකරණ ප්‍රසම්පාදනය සහ ජංගම වැඩමුළු වාහන භාවිතය ඇතුළු ව්‍යාපෘති ප්‍රගතිය පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීම සඳහා කණ්ඩායම සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ජෛව වෛද්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු සේවාවන්හි නිලධාරීන් හමුවිය.
ව්‍යාපෘති ප්‍රගතිය, වෛද්‍ය උපකරණ ඉන්වෙන්ටරි කළමනාකරණ පද්ධතිය (MEIMS) සංවර්ධනය, ජෛව වෛද්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු ශාස්ත්‍රපති උපාධිය සහ කෙටි කාලීන පුහුණුව වැනි ධාරිතා වර්ධන වැඩසටහන් සහ අනාගත දිශාවන් පිළිබඳව අතිරේක ලේකම් (ඉංජිනේරු) සහ අතිරේක ලේකම් (සංවර්ධන) සමඟ ඉහළ මට්ටමේ සාකච්ඡා පැවැත්විණි. වැඩහල් පහසුකම් සහ ක්‍රියාකාරිත්වය ද කණ්ඩායම විසින් පරීක්ෂා කරන ලදී.
වෛද්‍ය උපකරණ ඉන්වෙන්ටරි කළමනාකරණ පද්ධතිය (MEIMS) සංවර්ධන කටයුතු සහ ජෛව වෛද්‍ය වෘත්තිකයන් සඳහා ධාරිතා ගොඩනැගීම සම්බන්ධ මුලපිරීම් සමාලෝචනය කිරීම සඳහා ඇගයීම් කණ්ඩායම මොරටුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ඉංජිනේරු පීඨයට ගිය අතර එහිදී විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයීය රසායනාගාර පහසුකම් නිරීක්ෂණය කළහ.
දකුණු පළාතේ පළාත් සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා අධ්‍යක්ෂ (PDHS) කාර්යාලයේදී, කණ්ඩායම ජෛව වෛද්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු සේවාවන්හි තත්ත්වය සමාලෝචනය කළ අතර, සේවා ඒකක සහ කොරියා ජාත්‍යන්තර සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා පදනම විසින් පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලද ජංගම වැඩමුළු වාහනය පරීක්ෂා කළ අතර, ඉංජිනේරු කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සමඟ නඩත්තු පිළිවෙත්, මෙහෙයුම් සහ සේවා කළමනාකරණය පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කළහ.
අනුරාධපුර පිහිටි උතුරු මැද පළාත් සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා කාර්යාලයෙහි නිරීක්ෂණ චාරිකාවේ දී ජෛව වෛද්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු සේවා සහ උපකරණ කළමනාකරණය පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡා පැවැත්වූ අතර, ප්‍රාදේශීය සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා අධ්‍යක්ෂ (RDHS) විසින් කොරියා ජාත්‍යන්තර සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා පදනමෙහි ශ්‍රී ලංකා නියෝජිත වෙත කෘතඥතා ලිපියක් පිළිගැන්වීය.
ඇගයීම් කණ්ඩායම මාතර දිස්ත්‍රික් මහ රෝහල, අනුරාධපුර ශික්ෂණ රෝහල, ගල්නෑව ප්‍රාදේශීය රෝහල සහ තඹුත්තේගම මූලික රෝහල වෙත නිරීක්ෂණ චාරිකා සඳහා ගමන් කළ අතර එහිදී කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සාකච්ඡා පැවැත්වීය. ඔවුන් උපකරණ කළමනාකරණ පිළිවෙත් නිරීක්ෂණය කළ අතර, ගෑස් විශ්ලේෂක, ඩිෆයිබ්‍රිලේටර් සහ ජංගම එක්ස් කිරණ යන්ත්‍ර වැනි උපාංග පරීක්ෂා කළ අතර, නඩත්තු ක්‍රියා පටිපාටි, ඉන්වෙන්ටරි පද්ධති සහ අමතර කොටස් සහ සේවා ගිවිසුම්වලට අදාළ අභියෝග පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කළහ.
මෙම රැස්වීම් සහ ක්ෂේත්‍ර චාරිකා මධ්‍ය කාලීන ඇගයීම සඳහා වටිනා අවබෝධයක් ලබා දුන් අතර කොරියා ජාත්‍යන්තර සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා පදනම, සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය, ජෛව වෛද්‍ය ඉංජිනේරු සේවා සහ පාර්ශවකරුවන් අතර ශක්තිමත් සහයෝගීතාව නැවත තහවුරු කළේය.
ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම් සඳහා කොරියා ජාත්‍යන්තර සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා පදනම අඛණ්ඩව දායක වේ.
