Embassy of the state of Qatar in Sri Lanka

His Excellency Anura kumara Dissanayake, President of the Republic of Sri Lanka received the Arab Ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Sri Lanka on Wednesday (08/04/2026) at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
During the meeting, issues related to Arab-Sri Lanka relations, repercussions of the war in the Middle East and the Iranian attacks on the Gulf states, Jordan, and Iraq were discussed.

H.E. the Ambassador Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dosari attended a luncheon hosted by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Khalid bin Hamoud Alkahtani on Saturday (21) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr Festival.

As part of the State of Qatar’s humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering needy families during the holy month of Ramadan, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in cooperation with Qatar Charity office in Colombo distributed food baskets to needy families on Thursday (27).
The event was held in the presence of the Chargé d' Affaires at the Embassy, Mr. Ali Salim Al-Nuaimi, and the Director of the Qatar Charity office in Colombo, Mr. Mahmoud Abu Khalifa.

H.E. the Ambassador Hamad bin Mohammed Al Dosari met with Hon. Mr.Vijitha Herath Minister of Foreign Affairs Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka on Tuesday 24/02/2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, the existing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the ways to develop and strengthen them in a manner that serves the interests of the people of both countries were discussed.

H.E. the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, received the credentials of H.E. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dosari as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Sri Lanka, at a reception held at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo on Tuesday 24/02/2026.

H.E. the Ambassador conveyed H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's greetings to H.E. the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and His Highness's wishes of abundant health and happiness to His Excellency, and to the government and people of Sri Lanka, enduring progress and prosperity.

For his part, H.E. the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka entrusted H.E. the Ambassador with his greetings to H.H. the Amir, wishing His Highness abundant health and happiness and the State of Qatar further progress and growth.

On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Colombo extends its warmest greetings and best wishes to all Muslims. May Almighty Allah make this month as month of goodness for everyone.

H.E. Ambassador Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dosari participated today (17) as the Chief Guest at the Ceremony to hand over Equipment valued at 80,000 USD funded by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) through Qatar Charity office in Colombo to the Disaster Management Center (DMC) in Sri Lanka to support government search and rescue operations.

H.E. Ambassador Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Dosari held a farewell ceremony for the CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, Mr. Khalid Al-Hamadi on Saturday (14 ) in Colombo, in the presence of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the sisterly Arab countries in Sri Lanka.
