The Visionary Liberia Party Strongly Condemns the Burning of the Capitol Building

The Visionary Liberia Party (VLP) is deeply troubled by the recent burning of the Capitol Building, an act of arson that threatens the foundation of our democracy and the sanctity of our nation’s governance. We unequivocally condemn this violent and unlawful action, which only serves to deepen the ongoing political crisis.

The Capitol Building is a symbol of our nation’s unity, democracy, and sovereignty. Attacks on this institution are attacks on the aspirations and dreams of every Liberian. Such actions are not only criminal but also counterproductive to the peaceful resolution of political disputes.

We urge all Liberians to respect the rule of law and engage in peaceful dialogue as a means of addressing grievances. Violence is never the answer and will only erode the progress we have made as a nation.

The Visionary Liberia Party calls on the government and law enforcement agencies to swiftly investigate this heinous act and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. Accountability is essential to restoring public confidence and deterring future acts of violence.

We also appeal to all political actors and citizens to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate the crisis further. It is through mutual respect, dialogue, and adherence to the rule of law that we can overcome the challenges facing our beloved country.
