Last week our Diabetes team carried out refresher training for Diabetes service providers at Jackson F Doe Memorial Hospital in Tappita City, Nimba County. The team focused on detection and prevention of diabetes, initiation of effective diet therapy, physical activity, detection and treatment of foot complications, diabetes screening procedures, treatment of gestational diabetes, oral medication and insulin management. Yesterday Our Deputy Director NCDI and Coordiantor Oral Health held a meeting with the Trinity Dental Clinic of ELWA Hospital as part of a scoping exercise for Oral Health in Liberia. Service availability, scope, affordability, workforce and supplies were discussed.
