Russia is sometimes assumed to have limitless manpower.
In reality, its working age male population is being eroded: low birthrates, high mortality, mass emigration, and catastrophic battlefield losses over 1.3 million since 2022.
To fill the gap: 27,000 foreign recruits from 130 countries. Many were coerced or deceived to die for the Kremlin's imperial delusions.

On the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, we stand with every survivor β women, men, girls and boys β whose bodies and dignity have been violated as a weapon of war.
Sexual violence in conflict is not collateral damage. It is a deliberate attack on people and on the fabric of communities, and it leaves wounds that last long after the guns fall silent.
To survivors everywhere: you are not defined by what was done to you. You are seen, you are believed, and you deserve safety, healthcare, justice and a future free from stigma.
We renew our commitment to supporting survivors with protection, medical and psychosocial care, and access to justice β and to working toward a world where conflict-related sexual violence has no place.
