🇨🇿: Když se bratrský konflikt mezi Hermem a Apollónem vyhrotil, musel zasáhnout sám Zeus. Oba bohové byli „pozváni na kobereček“ k nejvyšší autoritě, která měla rozhodnout, kdo je viníkem a jaký trest padne. Hermés však předvedl něco, co je pro diplomacii přímo modelové: obratnou argumentaci, klid, duchapřítomnost a schopnost přesvědčit. Výsledek? Zeus z něj učinil posla bohů, důvěrníka, kterému se svěřovali ti nejmocnější. Hermés, mistrný vyjednavač, dokázal proměnit konflikt v příležitost. Jeho příběh nám připomíná, že diplomacie není jen o řešení sporů, ale také o umění obrátit i nepříznivou situaci ve zdroj skutečné důvěry.
🇬🇧: When the brotherly conflict between Hermes and Apollo escalated, Zeus himself had to intervene. Both gods were “called to the carpet” before the supreme authority, who was to decide who was to blame and what punishment would be dealt. Hermes, however, demonstrated something that is a textbook example of diplomacy: skillful argumentation, calmness, presence of mind, and the power of persuasion. The result? Zeus made him the messenger of the gods, a confidant in whom the most powerful placed their trust. Hermes, a master negotiator, managed to turn conflict into opportunity. His story reminds us that diplomacy is not just about resolving disputes, but also about the art of turning even an unfavorable situation into a source of genuine trust.

🇨🇿: Podle legendy, kterou jste právě viděli, to vypadalo, že vztah mezi diplomacií a kulturou nebude zrovna idylický. Hermés, zosobnění diplomatického umu, a Apollón, patron umění, stáli na prahu bratrského sporu, který mohl přerůst v otevřené nepřátelství. Situace se však zásadně změnila ve chvíli, kdy Hermés předal Apollónovi lyru — nástroj tak vytříbený, že Apollóna nejen uklidnil, ale přímo okouzlil. Tento dar se stal symbolem smíru a položil základ jejich spojenectví. Stejný princip platí i v diplomacii. Kultura ve svém nejširším pojetí — od múzických disciplín přes jazyk a design až po gastronomii — představuje nenahraditelný nástroj, který doplňuje formální jednání a umožňuje navazovat vztahy na úrovni, které politické argumenty samy o sobě nedosáhnou. Ještě že Hermés tehdy pochopil, že někdy je nejúčinnějším diplomatickým krokem nikoli další argument, ale dobře zvolený dar!

🇬🇧: According to the legend you have just seen, it seemed that the relationship between diplomacy and culture would be far from idyllic. Hermes, the embodiment of diplomatic skill, and Apollo, the patron of the arts, stood on the brink of a brotherly dispute that could have escalated into open hostility. However, the situation changed fundamentally the moment Hermes presented Apollo with the lyre — an instrument so exquisite that it not only appeased Apollo but utterly enchanted him. This gift became a symbol of reconciliation and laid the foundation for their alliance. The same principle applies to diplomacy. Culture in its broadest sense — from the performing arts through language and design to gastronomy — represents an irreplaceable tool that complements formal negotiations and makes it possible to build relationships on a level that political arguments alone cannot achieve. It is a good thing Hermes understood back then that sometimes the most effective diplomatic move is not another argument, but a well-chosen gift!

🇨🇿:Oleksandra Matvijčuk — hlas odvahy, spravedlnosti a lidské důstojnosti — vystoupila 23. března 2026 v rámci iniciativy “Advocacy Coalition – Defending Our Future Now” v Evropském parlamentu v Lucemburku. Její slova o lidských právech, odpovědnosti a síle solidarity rezonovala napříč celým sálem.

Minulé úterý 19. května 2026 obdržela ve Štrasburku prestižní cenu European Order of Merit. Toto ocenění je udělováno osobnostem, které mimořádně přispívají k obraně evropských hodnot, demokracie a lidských práv. Oleksandra jej získala za svou neúnavnou práci v dokumentování válečných zločinů, podporu obětí ruské agrese a za její neochvějný závazek k pravdě a spravedlnosti. Gratulujeme!

Starting 1 June, the fence of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Luxembourg will host the outdoor exhibition “Lost Fairy Tales” — a selection of children’s artworks from Aza Nizi Maza, created at a time when their city was under fire.

🇨🇿: Zveme vás na projekci dokumentu “Underground Garden”, který přibližuje neobyčejný svět charkovského výtvarného studia Aza Nizi Maza — místa, kde dětská fantazie dokáže přežít i uprostřed války.
