[Atelier des Carrefours]
1) Sample collection from nature Together and individually, participants collect samples from their surroundings according to their interests. These may include botanical, fungal, animal, mineral or water samples. The collection encourages curiosity and a closer connection with the natural world.
2) Observation and exploration Participants explore their samples through detailed observation and a range of artistic and scientific techniques, including drawing, watercolours, leaf rubbings and microscope photography. The workshop examines form, function and colour, while also drawing on historical and literary representations of nature. Participants are encouraged to experiment and develop their own approach.
3) Documentation and journaling Participants develop a portfolio documenting their process through drawings, photographs and written reflections. These may take the form of scientific reports, literary prose or poetry, deepening their understanding of their chosen subject. By the end, each participant will have created a personal collection recording their observations, discoveries and creative development.
