Today, the Embassy of Ghana in the Kingdom of Morocco joins our brothers and sisters at home and across the globe to commemorate the 69th anniversary of our great nation.

Under this year’s theme, “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,” we reflect on our journey as the first sub-Saharan nation to gain independence and with a steadfast commitment to a united, liberated and prosperous Africa.

To our compatriots in Morocco, we appreciate your resilience and contributions towards strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship between our two nations.

As we mark this important day in the history of our motherland, let us continue to remain united in our quest for a peaceful and prosperous Ghana.

God bless our homeland, Ghana, and make it great and strong.

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and industry, Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare (MP), participated in the 2nd Edition of the AfCFTA Business Forum, held in Marrakech, Morocco, from 11th to 12th December, 2025.

Organised by the Moroccan State Secretariat of State to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, in partnership with the AfCFTA Secretariat and several major Moroccan business entities, the Forum, which was themed “Together for the efficient implementation of the AfCFTA”, provided a platform for participants to deeply reflect on the opportunities and promising prospects offered by the AfCFTA.

Participating in a panel discussion on the topic “Thinking regionally, act continentally: the role of African regions in developing intra-African trade”, the Hon. minister stressed the need for African countries to build strong regional foundations and translate them into continental opportunities. She stressed that by thinking regionally and acting continentally, Ghana was positioning itself as a gateway for Africa’s industrialisation, trade expansion and economic transformation.

Ghana’s Minister for the Interior, Honourable Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, led a delegation comprising Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Mrs. Charity Gbedawo; the Ag. Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior, Mrs. Doreen P. Annan; the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Ms. Lydia Yaako Donkor; and their supporting staff to participate in the just-ended 93rd Session of the INTERPOL General Assembly, held in Marrakech, Morocco, from 24th to 27th November 2025.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa , together with Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, H.E. Mrs. Charity Gbedawo, on Friday, 22nd November 2025, met with the first batch of 25 newly arrived beneficiaries of the Ghana–Morocco Bilateral Scholarship, alongside two officials from the Scholarships Secretariat, executives of the Ghana Students Association in Morocco (GHASAM) and some continuing students, at the Ghana Embassy in Rabat.

The Honourable Minister congratulated the students, encouraged them to excel in their studies, and, in a gesture of goodwill, presented each of them with a token amount of money to support their initial settlement in the country. He also commended the steadily growing relations between Ghana and Morocco. The remaining 52 students were yet to arrive the following week.

The Honourable Minister took the opportunity to meet the students while in Rabat to participate in the African Ministerial Conference on Disarmament, Demobilisation, and Reintegration of Child Soldiers(DDR) held on 21st November, 2025.

This meeting highlighted the commitment of both Ghana and Morocco to strengthen bilateral trade relations.

Discussions focused on exploring new opportunities for collaboration, with the aim of deepening economic ties and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between the two countries.

From 14–19 September 2025, Ghana's delegation on economic promotion embarked on a visit to Morocco.
As part of the mission, the team paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Ghana in Morocco, strengthening bilateral ties and fostering deeper collaboration between the two nations.
