Crna Gora je juče bila domaćin Samita lidera Berlinskog procesa, na kojem je Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo 🇬🇧 predstavljao ministar za Evropu, lord Stjuart Vud.

Nakon što smo prošle godine predsjedavali Berlinskim procesom, nastavljamo da sarađujemo sa partnerima širom regiona.

Vjerujemo u budućnost Zapadnog Balkana, u kojoj saradnja otvara nove mogućnosti za građane, privredu i mlade.

Čestitamo Crnoj Gori na ovogodišnjem predsjedavanju Berlinskim procesom i organizaciji Samita.

Jer sigurniji, stabilniji i povezaniji Zapadni Balkan znači i sigurniju i prosperitetniju Evropu.

Youth Connect Western Balkans is part of the British Council’s global Youth Connect programme, empowering young people in Montenegro 🇲🇪 to become leaders of positive social change.

Bringing together 36 participants (aged 18-30) from across the Western Balkans, the programme builds leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration skills through regional training, youth-led action research, and cross-cultural exchange.

We are looking for a Projects Officer to help deliver high-impact programmes supporting security, democratic resilience and stability in Montenegro and across the Western Balkans.

The role will work on projects covering areas including disinformation, democratic resilience and economic security, while building strong partnerships and contributing to the Embassy’s wider political and policy work.

This is an opportunity to combine programme delivery with analysis, reporting and engagement on issues that matter to Montenegro and the region.

🇬🇧 ambasadorka Neris Džouns danas je zajedno sa timom Britanske ambasade bila na Montenegro Pride-u u Podgorici, završnom događaju ovogodišnje Pride sedmice.

Tokom proteklih dana, program Montenegro Pride-a okupio je ljude kroz razgovore, izložbe, film, kreativne radionice, konferencije i druge događaje posvećene vidljivosti, ravnopravnosti i iskustvima LGBTIQ+ zajednice. Ovogodišnja Pride sedmica završava se današnjim okupljanjem u centru Podgorice, uz muziku, performanse i zajedničku poruku da svako treba da ima pravo da živi slobodno, dostojanstveno i bez diskriminacije.

Za Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo 🇬🇧, podrška ljudskim pravima i jednakosti nije samo poruka za jedan dan u godini. Ona znači podršku ljudima, organizacijama i zajednicama koje rade na tome da društvo bude otvorenije, sigurnije i pravednije za sve.

Zato nam je posebno drago što smo i ove godine dio Montenegro 🇲🇪 Pride-a, i što danas zajedno sa prijateljima, partnerima i LGBTIQ+ zajednicom šaljemo jasnu poruku iz Podgorice.

Vjekovi parlamentarne tradicije Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva 🇬🇧 n**e mnogo više od istorije. Oni pokazuju kako su se demokratske institucije razvijale, mijenjale i približavale građanima.

Zato nam je bilo posebno zadovoljstvo da, zajedno sa Skupština Crne Gore i Vestminsterskom fondacijom za demokratiju, studentima u Podgorici približimo istoriju, ulogu i svakodnevni rad 🇬🇧 Parlamenta. Kroz virtuelnu posjetu Vestminsteru, mladi su imali priliku da zavire u jednu od najpoznatijih parlamentarnih institucija na svijetu i saznaju više o tome kako britanska parlamentarna demokratija funkcioniše u praksi.

Zamjenica 🇬🇧 ambasadorke Sarah Pilbeam podsjetila je da parlamentarna saradnja predstavlja važan dio dugogodišnjeg partnerstva Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva i Crne Gore, ali i da razumijevanje demokratskih institucija počinje upravo ovakvim razgovorima sa mladima.

Jer demokratija nije samo nešto što se proučava u udžbenicima. Ona zavisi od ljudi koji razumiju institucije, postavljaju pitanja i žele da učestvuju u njihovom radu.

🇲🇪 Congratulations to Montenegro on successfully hosting the Berlin Process Economy Ministers’ Meeting in Cetinje, bringing together partners from across the Western Balkans and Europe to focus on how closer economic cooperation can translate into greater prosperity across the region.

Representing the 🇬🇧, Alexander Harriss, Deputy Trade Commissioner for Europe, underlined the Western Balkans’ significant economic potential and the importance of turning that potential into tangible benefits for citizens and businesses.

He highlighted the role of regional economic integration and the Common Regional Market in reducing barriers to trade, strengthening competitiveness and attracting investment, alongside the importance of strong institutions, good governance and transparency in supporting sustainable long-term growth.

The 🇬🇧 also reaffirmed its support for investment and connectivity across the Western Balkans, including through UK Export Finance, and reflected on work launched during the UK’s Berlin Process chairmanship last year to examine the region’s infrastructure investment needs.

Inclusive growth was another central theme. Alexander welcomed continued progress on women’s economic empowerment and stressed that ensuring more women can participate fully in the workforce and as entrepreneurs is not only about equality, but also about unlocking economic growth and innovation.

The message from Cetinje was clear: closer regional integration, stronger institutions and practical cooperation can help turn the Western Balkans’ economic potential into lasting prosperity.

The 🇬🇧 remains committed to working with Montenegro and partners across the region through the Berlin Process.

🇲🇪 Congratulations to Montenegro on successfully hosting the 2026 Berlin Process Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Budva, bringing together partners to focus on the security, stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans.

Speaking at the meeting, 🇬🇧 Ambassador Nerys Jones reflected on the 🇬🇧’s chairmanship of the Berlin Process last year and welcomed Montenegro’s leadership in taking the Process forward in 2026.

She highlighted three areas where the Berlin Process can make a practical difference: strengthening security and resilience, supporting economic convergence and connectivity, and giving young people greater confidence in their European future. She also underlined the importance of regional cooperation in tackling shared challenges, from organised crime and irregular migration to cyber threats and disinformation.

As the Ambassador said, the test is whether the Berlin Process makes the region more secure, more connected, more prosperous and more resilient, and delivers tangible improvements in people’s lives.

The 🇬🇧 will remain an active partner in that work.

Minister White Home Office joined interior ministers and partners in Podgorica for the Berlin Process Interior Ministers’ Meeting, hosted by Montenegro 🇲🇪. She thanked Montenegro for its leadership and emphasised that the Western Balkans is an important partner for the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. The security challenges we face are shared, and the region’s expertise and cooperation are vital to addressing them.

In her interventions, the Minister called for closer cooperation against serious and organised crime, drug trafficking and illicit finance, as well as practical action to tackle violence against women and girls. She also highlighted the importance of intelligence sharing, stronger border management and joint operational action to disrupt criminal networks exploiting migration routes, visa systems and vulnerable people.

The UK will continue working with Montenegro and partners across the Western Balkans to deliver practical results and make all of our countries and communities safer.
