We reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening both the political dialogue and the broader cooperation that underpins our excellent bilateral relations, including as regards economic cooperation, security and defence, where the Minister and the Ambassador Ola Sohlström compared notes on the preparations for the NATO Summit in Ankara on 7-8 July.

In this spirit, Ambassador Sohlström presented Minister Mucunski with a Swedish football jersey, symbolizing friendship and inviting him to join 🇸🇪 during the ⚽.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from Mid Sweden Uni 🇸🇪 and their partners from South East European University (SEEU) 🇲🇰.

We were happy to hear about their collaboration within ChallengeEU European University Alliance, and learn more about their inspiring ambitions to develop a joint diploma in entrepreneurship and innovation.

This initiative is yet another great example of 🇲🇰🤝🇸🇪 connectivity, fostering stronger ties and innovative opportunities for students, businesses and institutions alike.

STORIES OF CHANGE: Andreja Popovik in North Macedonia turns his passion for gaming into new opportunities.
With years of experience in creative work, Andreja was ready to enter the gaming industry — but lacked the right opportunity.
Through connections supported by MUGI and the RECONOMY programme implemented by Helvetas and funded by Sweden, he secured his first professional role as a UI/UX designer in gaming, giving him the confidence to launch his own studio.
Today, Andreja works across game development, UI/UX design, and mentoring, while helping create pathways for more local talent to join the gaming industry.

🇸🇪🇲🇰 Congratulations to mezzo-soprano Milanka Noveska on receiving an artistic scholarship from the Ingrid and Oskar Falkman Foundation, presented at the historic Drottningholm Palace Theatre by H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden.
We are delighted to see talented individuals like Milanka building bridges between Sweden and North Macedonia through culture, creativity, and excellence. Her success is a testament not only to her remarkable talent and dedication, but also to the rich artistic potential that North Macedonia has to offer.

Flower wreaths 🌸, joyful dancing 💃, and (way up north) a sun that never sets ☀ – it must be Midsummer's Eve in Sweden!

Rooted in ancient pagan traditions, Midsummer celebrates summer solstice – the longest day of the year.
In Sweden, the celebration always occurs on the Friday during 19-25 June. This year it is today 19 June 🌼

A key part of the festivities is dancing around the maypole ('midsommarstång' in Swedish), often accompanied by traditional songs, and laughter not the least! 🕺💃

Other cherished customs include picking wildflowers 💐 and placing them under your pillow to dream of your future love 💭💖, wearing flower crowns, and enjoying classic Midsummer foods: pickled herring, boiled new potatoes with dill and soured cream and chives, and to finish, strawberries of course!

🌸🇸🇪 Glad midsommar! Wishing everyone a joyful Midsummer! 🇸🇪🌸

Getting ready for Swedish Midsummer: DIY flower wreath! One of the traditions on Midsummer Eve is to begin the day by picking flowers and making a wreath. The flower wreath can be worn as a crown or be placed on the maypole.

Ahead of the festivities, we give you 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭-𝐝𝐨𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 🌼🍓 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫! 🇸🇪 ☀️

Raise the maypole! 🌿 It’s not Midsummer until the leafy pole is up and proud. Once it's raised, dance around it like you mean it!!

Dance the 'Frog Dance'! 🐸 ('Små grodorna' in Swedish) Yes, you must hop in a circle pretending to be a frog. We don’t question it!

Make a flower wreath! 🌸 Crown yourself in wildflowers – and feel like a Scandinavian woodland fairy. (check the next post for how to make your own flower crown)

Feast on 'sill och potatis' 🐟🥔 – that's Swedish for pickled herring and boiled new potatoes! Then as many strawberries as you like for dessert. Trust the tradition!

Sing schnapps songs ALOUD!! 🍻🎶 Every sip deserves a song, if you ask us. Bonus points for dramatic eye contact during the toast. Glad midsommar! 💃🌞🎉
