ANZAC Day Dawn Service reminder

ANZAC Day initially marked the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. Today, ANZAC Day commemorates the lives of Australians and New Zealanders who have died in all military operations and the contribution and suffering of all who served. It also provides an opportunity to acknowledge all those who have lost their lives in war, from all countries.

You are warmly invited to attend the ANZAC Day Dawn Service:
📅 Date: Saturday, 25 April 2026
🕠 Time: 5:30 AM
📍 Venue: Rangoon War Cemetery, Pyay Road (near U Wisara Road Intersection)

Guests are requested to assemble at the cemetery by 5:15 am, and the gates will be open from 5:00 am.

ယခင်က ANZAC Day ကို ပထမကမ္ဘာစစ်အတွင်း တိုက်ပွဲဝင်ခဲ့ကြသော သြစတြေးလျနှင့် နယူးဇီလန်စစ်သားများ၏ ပထမဆုံး စစ်ဆင်ရေးကြီးအထိမ်းအမှတ်အဖြစ် ကျင်းပခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ယခုကာလတွင် ANZAC Day ကို စစ်ဆင်ရေးများတွင် အသက်စတေးခဲ့ကြသော၊ နိုင်ငံအတွက် တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်ကာ ပေးဆပ်ခဲ့ကြသော သြစတြေးလျနှင့် နယူးဇီလန် နိုင်ငံသားများအားလုံးအတွက် ဂုဏ်ပြုသည့်အနေဖြင့် ကျင်းပခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ANZAC Day သည် နိုင်ငံအသီးသီးမှ တိုက်ပွဲများအတွင်း ကျဆုံးခဲ့သူများကို အသိအမှတ်ပြုရန် အခွင့်အခါကောင်းလည်း ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

As the world marks International Human Rights Day, the New Zealand Embassy 🇳🇿 stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar, many of whom are still denied their basic rights and freedoms. We once again join with others in the international community in calling for an immediate end to violence, the release of all those unjustly detained, and unhindered humanitarian access to alleviate the suffering of millions. With elections approaching, conflict continues and there is still no genuine, inclusive political dialogue with all stakeholders. Elections held under such conditions cannot be free and fair, and will not lead to a just and sustainable peace.

This day marks the historic adoption of the convention on the Rights of the Child. In 2025 MFAT’s Child Protection Policy reinforces zero tolerance for harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation or trafficking in all NZ International development Cooperation programmes.
