The Commonwealth Youth Photography Competition 2026 is open now.

Free to enter, open to all Commonwealth nationals and residents aged 18 to 30, it asks young people to document the ocean (or any river, lake, or waterway) in one photograph and 300 words.

The overall winner receives £1,000, with £250 for each category winner.

The Royal Commonwealth Society, in partnership with the City of London Corporation’s Youth Natural Environment Board and the Commonwealth Secretariat, has launched the Commonwealth Youth Photography Competition 2026: Waves of Change.

This exciting Commonwealth-wide competition invites young people aged 18–30 to capture powerful stories about our oceans and waterways — from environmental challenges and changing coastlines to resilience, hope, and innovative solutions.

📸 Submit: One original photograph + a short statement (up to 300 words)
💧 Entry Fee: Free
🗓 Deadline: 8 June 2026 – World Oceans Day
