Understanding qualifications can sometimes feel confusing, especially when starting a new educational journey. That’s where the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) helps.
MQF Level 1 represents the foundation of learning and recognises basic knowledge, skills, and competences gained through education and training. It supports learners in building confidence, developing essential abilities, and preparing for further study or employment opportunities. The Malta Qualifications Framework, managed by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), helps learners and employers better understand qualification levels and learning pathways in Malta, while also aligning with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
Understanding MQF levels can help students make informed decisions about their education and future progression.

Student Funding in the European Higher Education Area: A Social Justice Perspective
At the next EUROSTUDENT Talks on June 18, we turn our attention to student funding in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and explore it through the lens of social justice.
Christoph Gwosć and Amanda Abeysinghe from the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) will present findings from their recent analysis of student funding systems across the EHEA. Drawing on a multi-dimensional concept of social justice, they examine how aspects of social justice have been reflected in EHEA ministerial declarations.
In addition, the presentation will feature an empirical analysis of financial inequality among students in the EHEA, including both cross-sectional and longitudinal perspectives, assessed against the backdrop of the concept of social justice.
Join us for this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how student funding systems across Europe contribute to – or challenge – the pursuit of social justice in higher education.
