Use of masks at Mater Dei Hospital effective 1st July:

Masks are no longer obligatory in hospital corridors, main reception area, public canteen, under and postgraduate education centres and conference halls.

However, they are still legally required and should continue to be worn upon entrance to wards and departments where patient care is being provided (e.g. wards, outpatients, theatre, medical imaging department). This applies to hospital staff, patients and visitors.

In out-patient clinics, face coverings should be worn upon entrance to the clinic as well as in waiting areas within these clinics.
