A big thank you to everyone who visited the Agrikoltura stand at the Public Service Expo Village 2025.

It was a pleasure to connect with so many members of the public and to share in your enthusiasm for high-quality, locally produced foods.

The tasting sessions were organised to highlight the unique qualities of food products carrying quality labels such as the PDO-certified Gbejna tan-Nagħaġ, as well as other local specialities including Maltese honey, extra virgin olive oil, traditional mazzit, organic fruit and vegetables, and locally produced wines. These products not only reflect Malta’s rich agricultural heritage but also meet strict standards that ensure authenticity, quality, and sustainability.

We truly appreciated your interest, thoughtful questions, and engaging conversations throughout the event.

Kien ta’ pjaċir kbir li ltqajna ma’ tant membri mill-pubbliku u li qsamna magħkom l-entużjażmu għal ikel ta’ kwalità għolja u prodotti lokali.

It-tasting sessions ġew organizzati biex jenfasizzaw il-kwalitajiet uniċi ta’ prodotti tal-ikel li huma ċertifikati b’tikketta ta’ kwalità, bħall-Ġbejna tan-nagħaġ iċċertifikata PDO, kif ukoll speċjalitajiet oħra Maltin bħall-għasel Malti, żejt taż-żebbuġa, mazzit tradizzjonali, frott u ħxejjex organiċi, u inbejjed lokali. Dawn il-prodotti mhux biss jirriflettu l-wirt agrikolu ta’ Malta u Għawdex, iżda jikkonformaw ukoll ma’ standards stretti li jiggarantixxu l-awtentiċità, il-kwalità u s-sostenibbiltà.

Apprezzajna tassew l-interess tagħkom, il-mistoqsijiet u d-diskussjonijiet interessanti matul l-avveniment.

Agrikoltura

🌱 Yesterday morning, we joined the Train the Trainer sessions hosted by the Home Economics Department for Home Economics teachers, focusing on integrating organic food education into the middle school curriculum.

Together with local organic certified producer Joe Sciberras, we explored the principles of organic farming and highlighted individual organic products. This was followed by a practical session led by Chef Kurt Mifsud, where participants prepared an inspiring organic-based lunch idea:

🍽️ Bulgar wheat based lunch with fresh fennel, potatoes, and cherry tomatoes
🍓 Simple baked oat snack topped with local organic strawberries

An enriching session that brought together learning, sustainability, and delicious food — all in one! 🌿✨
