Taking the time to slow down feels different at Bel Ombre Nature Reserve. As part of the Bel Ombre Wilderness Tour, a guided walk through the reserve leads you to our Picnic Pods, where you can pause, breathe, and reconnect, surrounded by nature and the calm of the wild.

Balade, la mascotte de chez nous 🐾

Avec sa présence fidèle et son tempérament doux, Balade fait partie des visages les plus emblématiques de Bel Ombre Nature Reserve.

Recueillie dans un refuge, elle partage le quotidien de la réserve depuis près de 8 ans et accompagne chaque journée avec calme et affection. Pour beaucoup, elle est bien plus qu’un chien : une présence familière et une véritable gardienne des lieux.

Rencontrez Roshni 💚

Elle ne porte pas de cape, mais depuis 2010, Roshni veille avec soin à la propreté et au bon entretien de Bel Ombre Nature Reserve, contribuant chaque jour à rendre le lieu accueillant.

Maman de deux enfants, elle incarne une force qui inspire au quotidien, entre vie professionnelle et personnelle. Aujourd’hui, nous célébrons Roshni et toutes les mamans qui font la différence. Nous vous souhaitons une très belle fête des mères.

La région de Macchabée–Bel Ombre, située dans le sud-ouest de Maurice, est classée Réserve de biosphère par l’UNESCO depuis 1977 dans le cadre du programme Man and the Biosphere.

S’étendant sur 3 594 hectares, cette zone protégée abrite une faune préservée, des arbres centenaires et un écosystème riche.
