HRDC Skills Interface | Textiles Subsector 🧵
The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) held a Skills Interface for the Textiles subsector on Friday 27 March 2026 at the HRDC Lecture Room, Ebène.
This session aimed to strengthen collaboration between industry and education while addressing the evolving skills needs of the Mauritian textiles sector.
Highlights of the session included:
• Insights from industry on workforce challenges and emerging skill requirements.
• Presentations by training providers on relevant programmes and certifications.
• Interactive exchanges to identify skills gaps and develop practical, industry-led training solutions.
Participants included operators from the textiles industry, representatives of public and private training institutions, and other key stakeholders.

HRDC Skills Interface | Focus on the ITO Sector 💻
As part of its ongoing Skills Interface series, the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) organised a session dedicated to the Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) sub-sector on Thursday 26 March 2026 at the HRDC Lecture Theatre, NG Tower, Ebène.
The session aimed to strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders and drive meaningful dialogue on current and emerging skills needs within the ITO industry. Discussions focused on identifying workforce gaps and shaping targeted skills development programmes to better align with industry demands and future growth.

Skills Interface focusing on the Care Homes subsector
The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) organised a Skills Interface on 20 February 2026, which brought together key stakeholders from the care homes subsector. The objective was to address current and emerging workforce challenges in Mauritius. The workshop focused on practical, actionable training solutions aligned with sector realities.
WORKSHOP STRUCTURE
Session 1: Industry Perspective
Employers and industry operators outlined current workforce challenges, recruitment constraints, and priority skill requirements within the care homes subsector.
Session 2: Training Provision
Public and private training providers presented existing qualifications and programmes relevant to the sector.
Session 3: Interactive Dialogue
A joint discussion between employers, operators and training providers to:
• Identify critical skills gaps;
• Propose practical measures to address these gaps;
• Recommend actions to strengthen collaboration between industry and training institutions; and
• Define short- and medium-term training priorities that may be supported under HRDC schemes.
