The discussions focused on strengthening Maldives–Germany cooperation and dialogue across areas of mutual interest, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations and expanding practical collaboration in the period ahead.

Participated in the Maldives–Germany Business Roundtable in Berlin alongside President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the Maldivian delegation.

Productive engagement with German business leaders on investment opportunities, fiscal reforms, digitalisation, energy transition, tourism, and long-term partnerships supporting Maldives’ Vision 2040.

Pleased to open the Maldives Marine Expo 2026 today, an important platform for showcasing innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration across the marine and maritime sectors.

As an island nation, the marine industry plays a central role in our economy. Events like this support knowledge exchange, private sector growth, and the continued development of Maldives’ ocean-based industries.

Met today in Oman with Sultan bin Salim bin Said Al Habsi, Minister of Finance of Oman.

We discussed strengthening trade and economic cooperation, including maritime and fisheries synergies, collaboration on energy projects in the Maldives, and enhanced partnerships across other sectors of mutual interest.

Today, I signed a new Country Partnership Framework with the OPEC Fund for International Development alongside President Dr Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, strengthening our long-standing partnership.

The framework sharpens our joint focus on climate resilience, sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy and fiscal stability, and deepens cooperation to support the Maldives’ long-term development priorities.

We value the OPEC Fund’s continued support since 1977 across key sectors including water and sanitation, transport, fisheries, health and education.

Today I joined Ambassador Kong Xianhua and officials from the Government of China for the handover of emergency assistance provided after the recent fire incident.

My sincere appreciation to the Government and people of China for this timely support that will assist our recovery efforts.

Our partnership continues to strengthen, supported by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s recent engagements with President Xi Jinping and our shared commitment to cooperation.

Honoured to launch the Maldives’ first Visa Infinite credit card with Bank of Maldives (BML) and Visa. This new product reflects the evolution of our financial sector and the growing demand for seamless international access, convenience, and premium services.

I commend BML and Visa for expanding choices for Maldivian consumers and supporting the development of a stronger, more innovative payments ecosystem.

Pleasure meeting H.E. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance of the State of Qatar, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2025.

We discussed ways to deepen our partnership and explore new opportunities for cooperation that support the mutual priorities of our two nations.
