A three-day workshop to develop the curriculum and manuals required for the implementation of career guidance in schools was conducted in K. Himmafushi from 13–15 June 2026.

The workshop brought together staff from various departments and divisions of the Ministry, along with trained career counsellors, to develop the curriculum framework and resource manuals. Discussions focused on reviewing the draft curriculum, gathering feedback, and refining the framework to support the effective implementation of career guidance in schools.

A four-day capacity building workshop for teacher training institutions to revise the teacher education curricula and align with the Maldives National Professional Standards for Teachers (MNPST) and Teacher Training Standards for Inclusive Education is being held from 14–18 June 2026.

The workshop brings together 45 participants from higher education institutions across the Maldives and is facilitated by technical experts from the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Skills Development, the National Institute of Education (NIE), and the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA).

The programme is supported by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and UNICEF Maldives.
