The commemoration of the International Day of Families and the International Day of Street Connected Children is currently underway at Lunzu Primary School in Traditional Authority Kapeni, Blantyre, where the Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, Mary Navicha, is presiding over the event. The commemoration is being held under the theme "Family Inequalities and Child Well-being."

Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, Mary Navicha has urged graduates from Magomero Community Development College to use their knowledge and skills to promote community transformation and contribute to national development.

Speaking during the 2026 graduation ceremony which she presided over, the Minister applauded the graduates for their hard work, resilience and dedication to education.

A total of 208 students graduated in various fields including Community Development, Early Childhood Development, Social Work, Home Management and Nutrition, Agro Processing, and Adult Literacy Education.

The ceremony celebrated academic excellence and marked an important milestone for the graduates as they prepare to serve communities in different sectors across the country.
