Proud to share that we are making steady progress on the construction of the Wowo Irrigation Scheme, a transformative Malawi Government project being implemented through the Department of Irrigation with funding support from the Government of Malawi and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Current works underway include: Solar farm installation, Geo-membrane installation, Valve chamber construction and Installation of mainline and secondary line gate valves

These critical infrastructure components will enhance irrigation efficiency, improve water management, and contribute to increased agricultural productivity and food security for the beneficiary communities in Senior Traditional Authority Nkhulambe's area in Phalombe.

Proud to share that Earlier today, We successfully conducted a stakeholders engagement meeting at Dowa Dambo Irrigation Scheme to discuss the proposed irrigation scheme management arrangement.

We are encouraged by the positive support and valuable contributions from farmers' representatives, government officials, traditional leaders, and all stakeholders present. Together, we are working towards sustainable, efficient, and profitable irrigation systems that will improve livelihoods and strengthen food security.

Check out the newly installed solar array at Phata Sugarcane Outgrowers Cooperative in Chikwawa. This array will power irrigation pivots - powering sustainable farming and local community development.

Honouring the father of the nation. The legacy lives on

This evening we are honoured to host the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, Honourable Rosa Mbilizi MP, on her visit to the Embangweni Water Supply Scheme currently under construction.

The project, being implemented by FISD Limited under the Malawi Government through the Department of Water and Sanitation, is set to transform access to clean and safe water in the area which has faced water challenges for many years.

The scheme includes:
Construction of 4 boreholes
Solar-powered water pumping system
A 90 cubic meter concrete water tank
A water dosing system
A 5km pipeline network
17 water points
A community water kiosk

The project will supply water to public institutions, hospitals, schools, and surrounding communities

Once completed, the project will greatly improve the livelihoods of people within the catchment area by providing reliable access to potable water and enhancing sanitation and public health.
