Is the guide necessary?

YES! A local guide is the best way to learn about the reserve. Besides monkeys, birds and other kind of mammals sometimes we can also encounter snakes on the paths, just like in this video. A Bothrops asper known as Nauyaca and considered one of the most venomous in the Yucatán peninsula 🐍😱
