As our city changes, local artists like who capture the pain, joy, and hope of Cantabrigians today, are vital.
In case you missed it: Our friend, Cambridge photographer Kristen Joy Emack was recently featured in for her current photography exhibition at Boston’s , open through this Saturday! “Book of Saints” is an exhibition that documents her Cambridge community - those who are growing up here, and those struggling to stay here.
Read the Globe piece on Kristen’s work at the link in our bio. Our President Geeta Pradhan was quoted in the story to provide context from our 2021 research report, Equity and Innovation Cities (in which photography by Kristen appears).
Kristen’s photos of everyday Cantabrigians will surely leave a powerful legacy for our community. As the Globe wrote: “’Book of Saints’ captures her city now, ‘so that 100 years from now, 50 years from now, 20 years from now, when Cambridge has morphed into whatever it’s going to become,’ Emack said, ‘we will have an archive of who was here, and who most likely was not able to stay.’”
