Malaysia–Indonesia Collaboration through Sandbox

As part of the Global Technology Sandbox Alliance (GTSA), we recently embarked on a knowledge exchange visit to Indonesia, engaging with key innovation and technology ecosystem players including Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN), Bandung Techno Park (BTP) and Living Lab Ventures (LLV) under Sinar Mas Land.

The engagements provided an opportunity to exchange insights on technology testing, innovation ecosystems, regulatory sandboxes and pathways for technology validation across both countries.

Beyond knowledge exchange, the visit also focused on exploring potential strategic partners in Indonesia to support vice versa cross-border technology testing through GTSA Programme enabling technologies to access suitable testing environments, ecosystem partners and potential market opportunities for both in Malaysia & Indonesia.

Moving forward, GTSA aims to strengthen and establish bilateral collaboration with Indonesian counterparts in areas related to cross-border technology testing, innovation and regulatory sandbox cooperation, technology validation and market access.

Strategic Governance & Bilateral Trade Expansion at Techsauce 2026

Behind every successful commercialisation mission is strong strategic leadership and robust institutional trade support.

We were privileged to have MRANTI Board Director, Mr. David Lim, join us on the ground in Bangkok. His presence reinforced our shared vision of positioning Malaysia as the premier hub for technology commercialisation across ASEAN.

Adding further strength to our business matching efforts, we introduced our six showcasing innovators to Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) President, Datuk Ng Yih Pyng, along with his senior delegation. Their strategic engagement unlocked critical market access pathways, regional networks and commercial insights for our tech champions.

Thank you to our Board and ACCCIM leadership for driving regional economic growth and empowering Malaysian innovators to scale beyond borders! 🚀

Strengthening "Team Malaysia" Synergy at Techsauce Global Summit 2026!

A successful international mission relies on strong diplomatic and ecosystem alignment. We were honoured to welcome Mr. Ahmad Phadil Mohamed Ismail, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) of the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, to the Malaysia-MRANTI Pavilion!

The VIP delegation walked through our pavilion to engage directly with our 6 National Technology & Innovation Sandbox (NTIS) exhibitors, observing live demonstrations across telehealth, deep-tech sensing, security AI and agritech.

This mission exemplifies the power of a unified "Team Malaysia" approach, aligning Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI) innovation sandboxes with our key national and trade partners:
🔹 Diplomatic & Trade: Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, MATRADE, and MITI
🔹 Ecosystem Enablers: MRANTI, Cradle Fund, MDEC, and SIDEC

Together, we are creating seamless pathways for Malaysian technology scale-ups to validate, soft-land and thrive across ASEAN markets. Big thanks to our diplomatic & ecosystem partners — the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, Cradle, MDEC, SIDEC, MATRADE and MITI for driving this mission forward.
