Most people only notice connectivity when it slows down. But behind every video call, cloud service and broadband connection is the fixed network infrastructure keeping everything running. ๐
The Fixed Network Facilities (FNF) Working Group at MTSFB focuses on strengthening fixed network standards for seamless connectivity, supporting the development of reliable and future ready communications infrastructure through collaboration with industry players, experts, academia and stakeholders.
If your organisation is involved in network infrastructure, fibre deployment, telecommunications facilities, broadband services or technology development, your expertise can help shape the standards and technical requirements supporting Malaysiaโs fixed network landscape.
๐ Join the FNF Working Group and be part of the collaboration driving resilient and seamless fixed network connectivity.

Satellite communications may operate beyond the horizon, but they play a critical role in connecting Malaysia across land, sea and remote areas.
Under MyTMAP2030, satellite technologies continue to evolve to support broader coverage, resilient connectivity and emerging use cases, complementing terrestrial networks and strengthening national communications capabilities.
At MTSFB, this progress is supported through the establishment of the Satellite Communications Working Group (WG7) in 2025, focusing on the development of Technical Codes for satellite communications. This helps align national policy direction with practical implementation, enabling the industry to adopt satellite technologies in a consistent and interoperable manner.
๐ Satellite communications are more than connectivity. They extend the reach of policy, technology and standards to where they are needed most.

MTSFB engaged with the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) Malaysia on 2 April 2026 to strengthen collaboration in advancing Malaysiaโs cyber security ecosystem.
The session revisited the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 30 July 2024 and set a clear direction for future cooperation. Discussions centred on technical code development, policy implementation and cohesive national standardisation efforts, particularly through NACSAโs active participation in MTSFB Working Groups.
Priority areas identified include capacity building to enhance industry readiness, the development of the AI Cyber Security Requirements Technical Code to address emerging risks, expanded collaboration in cyber security programmes and initiatives such as AIoT, and greater involvement in risk mitigation technical codes and international contributions.
We are encouraged by NACSAโs intention to extend the MoU, together with its commitment to contribute experts to MTSFB Working Groups and Task Forces in line with Section 12 of the Cyber Security Act 2024 (Act 854).
This continued partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a resilient and future-ready cyber security landscape for Malaysia.

Standards do not appear overnight. They are built through collaboration, discussion and industry input.
From identifying real challenges to working group discussions, public consultation and eventual adoption, the development of Technical Codes is a structured process shaped by the industry at every step.
This ensures that Technical Codes are not only technically sound, but also practical, relevant and ready for real world implementation.
๐ Standards are built by the industry, for the industry.
