Penang Harmony Corporation-HARMONICO We are an implementing agency (Penang CMI) overseeing matters pertaining to religion other than Islam Penang Harmony Corporation Sdn. Bhd.

(HARMONICO) was established on 10 March 2021 under the Penang Chief Minister’s Incorporation (CMI) as an implementing agency to oversee matters pertaining to religions other than Islam and to execute plans and policies that will promote and bring about an inclusive and harmonious society in Malaysia. HARMONICO aims to build and promote the new concept of religious harmony so as to meet the challenges posed by religious diversity in a globalized world. On the basis of recognizing religious diversity and differences, all religions should enhance mutual understanding and empathy through dialogue, shoulder the common responsibility of upholding peace and justice through cooperation, and foster intra- and inter-religious harmony and harmony between the religious community and the larger society. HARMONICO believes that better understanding between different races and religions is the key to bridge the gap. It is HARMONICO‘s role to actively coordinate issues related to non-Muslim affairs and state/federal government assistance to non-Muslim Houses of Worship (RIBI), to be the reference point for all non-Muslim Houses of Worship (RIBI) associations or organizations, monitor the eRIBI system, organise religious festivals and programs for religions other than Islam at State Government level and promote Penang as a religious tourism destination.

“Mankind has an innate desire to observe and seek understanding of the different cultures that exist in the world.”
These desires to observe and understand different ways of life, traditions, values, and belief systems constitute the very platform of tourism. For domestic tourists, cultural heritage can stimulate a greater understanding in the local history, which may transcend into the feeling of pride and patriotism. It is imperative to promote the principle of ‘harmony without uniformity’ and learn to respect each other and jointly shoulder social responsibilities. The HARMONICO’s programmes are organised and extended to our community of all faiths.

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Tilting Futures students to Streets of Harmony Seberang Jaya, as we explored the beauty of harmony in diversity together through Jelajah Harmoni. ✨

From one house of worship to another, we learned, listened and discovered the stories that make our community in Streets of Harmony Seberang Jaya so unique, while gaining a deeper appreciation of how we can continue to live harmoniously together.

A heartfelt thank you to all the houses of worship that welcomed us with open doors and open hearts, and to Tilting Futures for being part of this meaningful journey with us. 🤍

Penang's Teong Guan Phor Thor Festival, also known as the Hungry Ghost Festival, was announced as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Penang State Government.

This recognition not only celebrates the traditions and practices during the 7th lunar month by the Chinese community, but also timely as the festival reflects the multifaith diversity as part of Penang's identity.

We, at HARMONICO, is heartened by this announcement, and hopes that more communities will be inspired to position their festivals and celebrations for the similar recognition

Kami mengucapkan Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan yang ke-69 kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia!

69 Tahun, satu perjalanan, berjuta warna.
Kita selesa bukan kerana kita sama, tapi kerana kita saling memahami. Beratus budaya, satu salam. Kita kekal sebagai satu, membentuk sebuah masyarakat madani yang hidup dalam harmoni. Terima kasih kepada semua atas usaha memupuk keharmonian antara kaum dan agama — kerana Malaysia kuat apabila kita bersatu.

Selamat Hari Merdeka ke-69! Malaysia Madani, Kesejahteraan Dinikmati ❤️
