Information Literacy Workshop 2026: Research Smart, Research Right

On 2 September 2026, the KIC Library successfully conducted an Information Literacy Workshop at the KIC Auditorium, bringing together 33 students from the Diploma Programme and TVET School.

The workshop was all about helping students become smarter, more confident, and responsible users of information.

Students learnt how to:
🔎 Understand and analyse assignment questions
🔑 Develop effective keywords and search strategies.
📖 Find academic sources using Google Scholar and library databases
✅ Evaluate information using the CRAAP Method.
✍️ Use in-text citations and prepare references using APA 7th Edition.
📝 Identify useful evidence from academic articles.

Each student also received a research template to help guide them through the research process from identifying information needs to finding, evaluating, and referencing reliable sources.

A big thank you to all the students for their active participation and enthusiasm! 🌟

📚✨ World Book & Copyright Day 2026 at Kompas Library ✨📚

On 23 April 2026, Kompas Library celebrated World Book & Copyright Day with a series of fun and interactive activities throughout the day! 🎉

Among the activities held were the following:
📖 Read Together for 10 Minutes
🎡 Spin & Win
💡 Book Quotes & Copyright Facts
📝 Quote Wall
🎨 Bookmark Design Station

The program aimed to encourage reading habits, promote awareness about copyright, and create a lively library environment for students and staff. A total of 17 participants joined the celebration, consisting of staff members and students.

The “Read Together for 10 Minutes” session was held at 11:00 a.m., where participants gathered to enjoy reading together in the library. Participants also enjoyed interactive activities such as answering book-related questions, sharing meaningful quotes, and designing their own creative bookmarks. ✨
