After speaking up, what matters most is bringing the issue to the negotiating table.
Today, Tanjung Aru Assemblyman Datuk Junz Wong and I continued to stand alongside The Loft owners at a meeting with Asian Pac representative Mr Kevin, held at The Loft Management Office.
During the meeting, we engaged in direct discussions on the residents’ concerns, including parking arrangements, subsidiary titles and building management issues.
This meeting represents tangible progress following our earlier press conference. It also shows that when we accompanied residents in speaking up, our intention was never to create confrontation, but to encourage all parties to face the issues together and work towards a solution.
I would like to thank Mr Kevin for his sincerity in inviting us and the owners’ representatives to the meeting, and for his willingness to listen to the residents’ concerns. As long as all parties are prepared to communicate openly, misunderstandings can be reduced and common ground can be found, step by step.
Of course, today’s meeting does not mean that every issue has been resolved. However, we have now progressed from publicly raising the residents’ concerns to engaging in face-to-face discussions.
The next meeting is expected to take place in approximately three weeks. We hope that by then, clearer information and more concrete, reasonable and workable solutions can be presented.
Datuk Junz Wong and I will continue to stand alongside the residents and follow up on this matter. Our responsibility does not end when the press conference is over.
Ensuring that the people’s voices are heard is only the first step; resolving their problems is our ultimate goal.
Junz Wong
