At the Resilient Asia Exposition & Forum 2026 last week, YM Raja Nor Dianna Raja Harun of Yayasan Hasanah, YBhg Datin Noorul Syifa Mohd Isa of Yayasan TM, and YM Tengku Noraida Tengku Mahmood of Yayasan PETRONAS represented GDRN alongside Mr Mohd Jamil bin Muda of HALUAN and Mr Abdul Aziz Mohamad Zabidin of NADMA for a panel discussion on “From Relief to Resilience: Strengthening Malaysia’s Disaster Response Ecosystem”.
The discussion underscored a shared commitment to stronger coordination between philanthropy, government and civil society in building a more responsive and resilient disaster management ecosystem for Malaysia.

Partners across GLCs and the social impact ecosystem came together for the GLC Demi Rakyat dan Negara (GDRN) Quarter 1/2026 Meeting on 2 April 2026 at TM Digital Academy, Cyberjaya — strengthening collaboration and aligning efforts towards meaningful impact for the rakyat.
The morning began with opening remarks by Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Managing Director of Yayasan Hasanah & Co-Secretariat of GDRN, followed by an engaging Sekolah Angkat MADANI panel discussion exploring the role of education partnerships in shaping future-ready communities.
Participants also gained valuable insights through presentations by Yayasan TM on “Driving Social Impact Forward: What We Do & Why It Matters”, and Red A on their Stockpile Anticipatory Action Programme — highlighting innovative approaches to resilience and preparedness.
The session concluded with closing remarks by Puan Ainol Shaharina Sahar, Director of Yayasan TM & Co-Secretariat of GDRN, followed by a group photo and an exclusive TM One Innovation Lab tour, offering a glimpse into how digital innovation is shaping impact delivery.

One platform, shared priorities, collective impact. 🇲🇾
The GLC Demi Rakyat & Negara (GDRN) Quarter 4/2025 Meeting was held recently, bringing together GLCs and GLICs to align priorities and strengthen collaboration on social impact initiatives that support Malaysia’s national development goals.
The session opened with remarks by Puan Ainol Shaharina Sahar, Director of Yayasan TM and GDRN Co-Secretariat, who highlighted the importance of coordinated action and shared responsibility in delivering sustainable outcomes for communities.
Key sharings included insights from the Ministry of Finance (M*F) on the M*F-Matching Grant for Social Impact under Budget 2026, followed by the National SDG Centre, Ministry of Economy, which outlined 10 focus areas for advancing Malaysia’s SDG achievements.
Members also received updates on ongoing and proposed initiatives, including Think City’s PPR Project Proposal, a joint presentation by Yayasan TM and NADMA on RANDEX and the Rakan NADMA Joint Operation Coordination Centre (RJOCC), as well as Yayasan Hasanah’s sharing on the Hasanah Academy, focused on strengthening capabilities within the social impact ecosystem.

Strengthening disaster preparedness together 🤝
The GDRN secretariat team recently attended the Jawatankuasa Pemandu Rakan NADMA meeting and the Taklimat Persediaan Menghadapi Monsun Timur Laut (MTL) 2025/2026, together with fellow GDRN members, NGOs, and academic institutions.
With the MTL season having officially begun on 13 November 2025, discussions centred on coordinated readiness and support for communities at risk of flooding.
Taking the role as a Rakan NADMA Korporat, GDRN remains committed to working closely with NADMA and partners nationwide to streamline relief efforts and ensure timely assistance for families affected across Malaysia.

🌿 Strengthening Collective Impact through Collaboration | GDRN Q3/2025 Meeting Highlights
Hosted by Yayasan PETRONAS at Menara Berkembar PETRONAS, the GDRN Quarter 3/2025 Meeting brought together members to strengthen partnerships in crisis response, community resilience, and sustainable development. 💪🤝
The session began with opening remarks by Puan Ainol Shaharina Sahar (Director, Yayasan TM & GDRN Co-Secretariat), who underscored the importance of collective action and cross-sector collaboration in achieving meaningful impact for communities.
The session featured insightful presentations on climate resilience (Yayasan PETRONAS), tiger conservation (Yayasan Hasanah), and community wellbeing initiatives through Kita-untuk-Kita (K2K) by Think City. Members also discussed preparedness for the upcoming Monsun Timur Laut (MTL) 2025/26 season and shared strategies for long-term impact.
A highlight of the meeting was the Jalinan Sejahtera Panel Discussion – “Strengthening Communities, Uplifting Lives: Changemakers in Action towards Sustainable Wellbeing”, moderated by Dr. Hajjah Yatela Zainal Abidin (CEO, Yayasan Sime Darby). The panel featured En. Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Shariff (CEO, CIMB Foundation & CIMB Islamic Bank), Puan Wan Seri Rahayu Wan Mohd Said (Head of Corporate Communications & Social Impact, RHB Bank Berhad; Head of Programme Management, RHB Foundation), and Mr. Lakshwin Muruga (Head of Community Development & Humanitarian Disaster, Yayasan Hasanah).

📌 GDRN Quarter 2/2025 Meeting Highlights
The GDRN Secretariat, in collaboration with Axiata Foundation, recently convened the GDRN Quarter 2/2025 Meeting.
The session began with opening remarks by Puan Ainol Shaharina Sahar, Director of Yayasan TM & Co-Secretariat of GDRN, who welcomed members and reaffirmed the importance of shared action in crisis response and community resilience.
The meeting featured a presentation by Encik Faizal from NADMA, who shared the Post-Monsun Timur Laut (MTL) 2024/25 Report. This was followed by a session on Zakat Wakalah, delivered by Puan Lana Mahbob from Lembaga Tabung Haji and Ustaz Imran Yaacob from Bank Islam.
A panel session titled Breaking Silos for Impactful Education Collaboration was also held, moderated by En. Mohamad Kamal Nawawi, CEO of Axiata Foundation. The panel featured Pn. Anita Ahmad (Yayasan MySDG), Pn. Shariah Nelly Francis (Yayasan Petronas), Pn. Ainol Shaharina (Yayasan TM), and Pn. Muzdalifah Mohd Nasir (Yayasan Sime Darby), who discussed the importance of cross-sector collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of education initiatives.
The session concluded with closing remarks by Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Trustee and Managing Director of Yayasan Hasanah & Co-Secretariat of GDRN, who acknowledged the collective efforts of all members and encouraged continued engagement.

🌿 GDRN Delivers RM1.2 Million Post-Flood Aid to Johor Communities 🌿
With Aidilfitri around the corner, GLC Demi Rakyat dan Negara (GDRN) has successfully distributed 3,850 family kits to flood-affected families across Johor Bahru, Pontian, Kluang, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Batu Pahat. Valued at RM1.2 million, the aid includes essential items such as electrical appliances and food supplies—helping families recover and prepare for the festive season.
This effort was made possible through the collective support of CIMB Islamic, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP], Lembaga Tabung Haji, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, Maybank Group, Permodalan Nasional Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, Yayasan Hasanah, Yayasan PETRONAS, Yayasan Sime Darby, and Yayasan TM, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA).
As co-secretariats of GDRN, Yayasan Hasanah (a foundation under Khazanah Nasional Berhad) and Yayasan TM remain committed to ensuring timely relief reaches those in need.
“We hope this support brings comfort and a sense of normalcy, ensuring no one is left behind in celebrating the joy of Raya”, said Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Trustee & Managing Director of Yayasan Hasanah.
