🎬 Romanian movie will be screened tomorrow, Monday, July 21st, 7.00pm at Lalaport BBCC. The story of 🇷🇴 tennis legend . It explores his career and impact on the sport of tennis. Directed by & Tudor D. Popescu, premiered at the and is part of the Official Selection in the Horizons section at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
The film delves into Năstase's highs and lows, including his US Open victory in 1972 and his appearances in Wimbledon and Davis Cup finals. The movie tells us about Pietro Pontechievello, a shy and introverted aspiring actor who moves to Rome to chase his dream. He rents an old apartment and soon realizes he is not alone—he starts seeing mysterious, ghostly figures in his home. At first, he believes he is hallucinating, but he soon discovers that these apparitions are the spirits of a theater troupe from the 1940s, trapped in a supernatural limbo.
As Pietro interacts with them, he uncovers their tragic past and helps them face the unfinished business that keeps them bound to the house. Along the way, he also confronts his own insecurities, loneliness, and personal struggles.
