Raphael Scott Ahbeng Born in 1939 in the Bau district of Sarawak, Raphael Scott Ahbeng was one of the first Borneo artists to gain recognition for his art that embraces abstraction. Raphael’s first attempt to paint was at age 9, and he continues to paint even today and even after a recent hand operation. James Ong’s first adventure to RSA museum, a best kept secret in town. One of his favourite RSA works is “Jungle Marriage”. James shares his thoughts, especially on the use of single color by the acclaimed artist to bring out the subject. He has a degree from University of Portland, Oregan, major in accountancy and minor in fine arts. James enjoys finer things in life such as Chinese tea where he administers and moderates Taetea / Dayi Tea Fan Club (益茶会) with over 4400 followers.

👋 Happy Sunday from Claude Monet's sunset "Coucher de soleil sur la mer" that will be one of the highlights of Sotheby's summer evening sale in London on June 29th.
Monet reveled in pastel’s capacity to render the freshness of nature, often choosing to work in this medium for his en-plein-air compositions as it gave him maximum agility to capture the fleeting and wildly fluctuating variety of scenes.
