Life is unpredictable; may she rest in peace. 🙏🏻

The DAP Kepong 329 Branch Charity Group mourns the passing of Madam Vinai Chanchai, aged 72. 🤍

Born in Thailand, she married into Malaysia 50 years ago. She raised two daughters alone while making pastries to survive. Due to a flood preventing document renewal, she lived undocumented for many years, enduring hardship with strength.🕊️

Her daughter, DAP329 member Chua Bee Fong, operates a small food stall in Intan Baiduri. With three children and limited income, she was unable to bear the funeral cost and humbly sought assistance.

With family approval, the DAP329 Charity Team handled the funeral arrangement with Thai Buddhist rites, ensuring a dignified and peaceful farewell.💐🙏🏻

With heartfelt gratitude to all donors — your kindness allowed a mother to complete her final journey with grace. May she rest in peace, free from suffering.🫶🏻

🌟 Because of You, We Are Grateful — Grandma Chong Njok Lian 🌟

When we give with sincerity, may the merit be dedicated to all beings, bringing freedom from suffering and peace.

Mr. Shu Chin Cheong, originally from Bukit Mertajam and now living in Kepong, has long supported himself and his 96-year-old adoptive mother, Grandma Chong Njok Lian, with only a modest income.
Grandma Chong had been frail for years, moving between nursing homes and home care. Despite working as a Grab driver to make ends meet, Chin Cheong continued caring for her day and night, exhausted yet never giving up on the promise: "You raised me when I was young; I will care for you as you grow old.”

Sadly, Grandma eventually succumbed to illness. Her sudden passing left him unable to afford the funeral expenses, and in his helplessness, he reached out for assistance. The DAP Kepong 329 CharityTeam immediately stepped in to arrange the coffin donation, Buddhist funeral rites, cremation and placement of the ashes— so that Grandma may depart peacefully and find rest in the afterlife.

Thanks to everyone’s kindness and support, the funeral arrangements for Grandma Chong have been fully completed. Your contributions are not only financial help, but also a profound source of warmth and strength for the grieving family.

From all of us at 3️⃣2️⃣9️⃣, we wish every kind-hearted soul good health, peace, and blessings. Thank you for allowing compassion to flow and love to continue. ❤️

Grandma Chong Njok Lian (1930–2025), from Bukit Mertajam, passed away at the age of 95. 👵

She lived a humble life, relying on the care of her adopted son, Mr. Shu Chin Cheong, as they faced years of illness, hardship, and multiple moves in and out of nursing homes.😔

Her health worsened suddenly, and she passed away in November 2025 due to heart failure. Unable to afford the unexpected funeral expenses, her son sought help from the Kepong DAP329 Charity Team, hoping to give his mother a dignified Buddhist farewell. 🕯️

Volunteers and kind donors have supported the family before with nursing home fees, necessities, a wheelchair, and a bed frame. The full funeral and cremation costs are about RM6,800.🙏

Her ashes will be placed at the Guangdong Memorial Tower by her adopted son. We extend heartfelt thanks to all who have shown compassion. ❤️

Grandma Chong Njok Lian (1930–2025), originally from Bukit Mertajam in northern Malaysia, passed away at the age of 95. 👵

In her later years, she lived a simple and difficult life, relying on the companionship of her adopted son, Mr. Shu Chin Cheong, along with occasional support from neighbours and kind-hearted members of the community. Over the years, she faced illness and instability — moving in and out of nursing homes due to discomfort and difficulty adapting. Despite the many hardships they endured, mother and son remained deeply devoted to one another. 😔

Recently, Grandma Chong’s health deteriorated rapidly. She passed away peacefully in November 2025 with her son by her side. According to the hospital’s report, the cause of death was heart failure. Faced with this sudden loss, Shu Chin Cheong was unable to shoulder the unexpected funeral expenses, and turned to the Kepong DAP329 Charity Team for help, wishing to give his beloved mother a dignified Buddhist farewell and a peaceful final journey. 🕯️

Over the past months, volunteers and generous individuals had offered continuous support — covering part of the nursing home fees, providing emergency living assistance, donating a bed frame and wheelchair, and helping with rent during critical periods. 🙏 Despite these efforts, the complete funeral and cremation arrangements still require community support. The total estimated cost is RM6,800 (any balance will go into the DAP329 charity fund). We sincerely appeal for kind contributions and blessings, so that her son may fulfil his filial duty and allow Grandma Chong to rest with dignity.

The DAP329 volunteer team will be conducting the full Buddhist funeral rites, including chanting ceremonies, coffin service, cremation, and final placement of ashes. Her ashes will be placed at the Guangdong Memorial Tower, arranged personally by Mr. Shu Chin Cheong. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors for their compassion and support. 🙏

This week’s visit is to Mr. Kong Yin Choong, 62, from Ampang New Village. He was once a hardworking tile installer who did everything he could to support his family. Although life was not easy, he always put his family first. 👨‍👩‍👧 However, four years ago, a sudden accident completely overturned their lives — while helping a neighbour pick longan, he accidentally fell from a ladder and severely injured his head and spine, losing his ability to move and becoming fully bedridden. 🆘

His wife, Mrs. Kong, has been carrying the entire burden of caregiving alone. With no nursing experience, she struggles while learning along the way, yet due to her limited ability, her husband developed serious pressure sores on his lower body. Every day she worries about feeding him through a tube, changing his tracheostomy, and arranging follow-up hospital visits. 😞 The high cost of private ambulances makes their situation even harder, and she said, “It’s not that I don’t want to be strong… I’m just truly exhausted…”

Stepping into their home, one is met with clutter and poverty, almost unbelievable for a family living in Kuala Lumpur. Mrs. Kong supports the household by selling clothes at the morning market, working six to seven hours a day yet sometimes only managing to sell a few small items. 🧺 Business has declined, expenses have piled up, and pressure keeps increasing — yet she continues to care for her husband without abandoning him.

Their two children also face difficulties: the elder daughter earns very little and can barely support herself, while the younger son is an OKU with no ability to work and requires lifelong care. 🏠 This couple has done everything they possibly can, yet they continue to struggle in the harsh reality of daily life.

We are grateful to all kind-hearted individuals who donated supplies and offered care, bringing a glimpse of light into the family’s darkness. 🙏 May everyone’s kindness continue to carry them through difficult times, and may genuine help allow them to regain stability again.

May all merits be dedicated to all beings, and may suffering be eased for all. 🕯️✨

Madam Yeo Bee Hoon, 57, from Kepong Desa Jaya, is a single mother who has endured a life of hardship yet remains remarkably strong. 👩‍👧Many years ago, her husband passed away due to illness, leaving behind heavy medical debts and leaving her to care alone for her daughter, Yong Xin, who is mentally disabled and suffers from epilepsy.

29-year-old Yong Xin has never attended school. With limited intellectual development and frequent epileptic seizures that require long-term medication, she can only join occasional church activities. As a mother, Bee Hoon feels constant worry and heartache, yet she grits her teeth and carries the family forward. 😔

To make a living, Bee Hoon travels daily from Kepong to Taman Sri Sinar to collect traditional kuih from her kind-hearted cousin. Although the cousin runs only a small business, she donates generously every year and often prepares extra portions or sells them at a cheaper price so that Bee Hoon can earn a modest living. 🌤️

After collecting the kuih, Bee Hoon walks under the scorching sun, carrying a basket from street to street, calling out to sell. Her daughter, who walks with a limp, follows closely as they weave through the neighbourhood. They earn about RM50 a day — barely enough — and on rainy days, they often earn nothing at all. Despite this, she never complains; she only sighs quietly from time to time, but never cries in front of others. 💔

Some encouraged her to apply for a PPR low-cost unit, but she replied with a bitter smile, “People like me… how would I ever get chosen…”. Until a kind soul helped her approach Kepong’s YB Lim Lip Eng. After much effort, DBKL finally called: her application was approved. At that moment, she felt as though she had won a grand prize, repeating “Thank you… thank you so much” over and over. 🙏

Now, the mother and daughter can finally move into PPR Gombak Setia — a stable home they have dreamed of for years. But moving expenses, basic renovation, and essential household items once again weigh heavily on her shoulders. She is willing to contribute what she can, but hopes someone can lend a helping hand at the critical moments so she will not be overwhelmed again.

Thanks to the kind contributions of second-hand furniture, appliances, lighting, window grilles, and volunteers who helped with installation and painting, much of her burden has been lifted. These acts of kindness have brought warmth and security to this pair of mother and daughter who depend solely on each other. May every good intention continue to shine light into their lives. 🙏✨
