AIBIM successfully convened its 31st Annual General Meeting, bringing together member institutions to reflect on the industry’s progress and continued priorities moving forward.

Guided by the AIBIM Annual Report theme, “Innovating with Impact”, this year’s AGM highlighted the importance of collaboration and collective leadership in supporting the continued development of the Islamic banking and finance industry.

The session also provided an opportunity for constructive engagement on industry developments, shared priorities, and the evolving landscape of Islamic finance.

AIBIM extends its sincere appreciation to all member institutions for their active participation, valuable insights, and continued support.

AIBIM recently held a preliminary engagement with Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) to explore potential collaboration on the development of a waqf-based fund.

The initiative is part of KWAP’s efforts to assess the feasibility of establishing a waqf fund aimed at enhancing pensioners’ welfare and advancing sustainable, socially impactful retirement solutions aligned with Islamic social finance principles.

During the session, KWAP shared its initial objectives and conceptual ideas for the proposed fund, while AIBIM provided insights on waqf structures, governance considerations, and industry practices, drawing from its experience through the myWakaf platform.

The engagement was constructive, with KWAP acknowledging AIBIM’s contributions in supporting its assessment process. Both parties look forward to continued collaboration and engagement in this space.
