Education is a human right – but it matters only when children truly learn.
In Somalia, Finland promotes efforts to protect children’s rights and improve access to safe quality education. UNICEF’s Teaching at the Right Level program, supported by Finland, helps children learn at their own pace.
Instead of age or grade, teaching is based on what each child knows. This helps children develop the foundational skills they need to catch up with learners of their age, especially those who have suffered from conflict and displacement.

The 4th LDC Future Forum will convene from the 19th to the 21st of May in Helsinki, Finland. The Forum will bring together a diverse community of LDC policymakers, researchers, youth leaders, civil society and private sector actors at a critical moment for the world’s Least Developed Countries (LDCs). -OHRLLS 🇫🇮 🇺🇳
This year’s Forum focuses on transforming the LDCs by empowering young people through education, innovation, and inclusive growth.

✨ When Finnish creativity meets Malaysian talent… magic happens! 🇫🇮🇲🇾🐾
The Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur had a blast at the premiere of Fleak, the international animated feature co-produced by Finland's Anima and Malaysian, Polish and French partners, created in Nordic cooperation.
From a spider-inspired furry friend with a taste for cookies🍪, to everyday objects becoming portals to another dimension ✨, Fleak shows what happens when imagination and collaboration cross borders . 💙
Fun fact: Malaysia gets the first English-language premiere, and 20 Malaysian animators joined the 300-strong international team bringing this world to life, with the support from the Finnish Film Foundation and other Nordic Funds! 🎬

Education continues in Ukraine despite constant air alarms. Without shelters, children would not be able to attend school. Beyond teaching, schools provide a sense of normality and community. Finland supports the construction of school shelters in Ukraine through the Civil Protection Shelter Coalition.
