*THEME: DUALITY*
Three Weeks left to go for NutMag 2026 submissions!
Island and mainland, sun and moon, good and evil. Dualities help us make sense of the world and ourselves, so it's no wonder that they're one of the most basic building blocks of storytelling.

This year, tell us about the dualities that define you and the narratives that defy them. Spin us tales of polar opposites, or both sides of the same coin. Split your poetry right down the middle; alternatively, pen an essay from two different perspectives (unfortunately, you can't co-write it).
Send us your works of duality, divisive or unifying. We prefer the niche to the clichéd, but we'll leave the door open if you'd like to surprise us. ✌🏻
Submissions open 1 Feb, and close on 31 May 2026. Open only to those from Penang, or Penang-based, more details below (Or scan the QR Code):

This month we'll be writing every Sunday at Yap Ah Shak House! This can be any draft you want to start or any work-in-progress you've got going: a poem, a sheaf of poetry, a single short story or a collection, a novel, a synopsis, anything goes. And Kuala Lumpur, we'll be writing at a swank spot: the Kapitan Club at Yap Ah Shak House!
Dates: March 1, 8, 15, 22 (all Sundays)
Time: 1pm - 5pm
Venue: Kapitan Room, Yap Ah Shak House, 17 Jalan Yap Ah Shak (off Jalan Doraisamy), Chow Kit
Public Transport: Dang Wangi LRT; Bukit Nanas Monorail
Parking: There is an assortment of parking lots, both automated and manned, in the area. Street parking is hard to find and unreliable, so you are encouraged to scope the area.
Yap Ah Shak House is a key-in building, so you will be required to register at the security desk on the ground floor.
