The time has come for us to bid farewell to our Guardians of Legacy 十二福星 installation and let our Guardians return to where they belong - in our hearts 💕.

Thank you for all the compliments and encouragement we have received this CNY. We are overwhelmed by the love and support shown. Thank you for creating meaningful memories with the Guardians - sharing your smiles, and filling Kwai Chai Hong with cheer and laughter.

We’ll be closed this coming Monday,
9 March, from 9am to 2pm
as the alley returns to its original state.

今年农历新年，�鬼仔巷多了十二位守护者。

他们静静站在巷子里，�陪大家走过一个热闹、温暖、充满笑声的春节。

这些日子里，�我们看见很多人来到这里拍照、接福、相聚。�
也看见很多笑容，被一张张照片记录下来。

谢谢大家给予《十二福星 Guardians of Legacy》�那么多的喜爱与鼓励。�
也谢谢你们来到鬼仔巷，�和你们的守护者一起留下属于自己的回忆。

随着农历新年渐渐落幕，�十二福星也准备完成他们今年的守护任务。

早上9点至下午2点暂时关闭，�进行艺术装置的拆除工作。

2 weeks ago, Kwai Chai Hong was featured on Enterprise Explores with Richard Bradbury and producer Carol Wong of team BFM Radio - The Business Station 89.9. This was perhaps the most in-depth interview we have had about , our inception, our goals, our journey, and our limitations.

The interview was rather intimidating at first, with questions covering topics beyond the aesthetics or artistic curation of Kwai Chai Hong. Not because we were unsure of ourselves, but because we believe we are still a work in progress - so much to learn, so much to give, and so much more to explore and share!!

“ When brands enter cultural storytelling, who benefits more?”
“ Is Chinatown today a lived community, or a destination experience? Who shapes the narrative?”
“ Could Kwai Chai Hong survive without corporate partnerships?”
“ Is sponsorship a necessity or a strategic choice?”

Thank you for asking us some tough questions - applauding our stubbornness, reminding us of our purpose, and challenging us to want to do better. That last question triggered a pretty sensitive topic. To that, we say “sponsorship that makes strategic sense is a necessity” 😊. We found that balance in all our past sponsorships. The most recent one with Guardian Health & Beauty was a match made in heaven. Catch the podcast for the story of how KCH hunted down guardian Malaysia this CNY.

This interview reminded us that it has not been an easy journey, but the encouragement we received, whether an appreciation of our installation, unexpected award recognitions, or perhaps the most touching one - validation from the community and people around us, has made all the efforts worth every heartbreak, and/or heart attack.

As our installation ends this Sunday, we’re preparing the dismantling process, starting with the sculptures, followed by the lanterns.
So if you haven’t already visited your “Guardian”, this is your final weekend to come by.

But we know what you guys are thinking,
“Why dismantle when they’re still looking so pretty? 👀”
“Keep la… then everyone still has a chance to visit.”

So that got us thinking…

Do we:
(a) Go as planned and dismantle
(b) Leave them alone… let them stay a little longer 🤭
