ASEAN Civil Service Games 2015

chairmanship of ASEAN, Malaysia proposes to organise the 1st ASEAN Civil Service Games (ACSG) to be held on the side-lines of the 27th ASEAN Summit which is scheduled to be held in November 2015. Currently the biennial Southeast Asian or SEA Games is the platform for ASEAN member states (AMS) to come together and celebrate the spirit of sport, solidarity and friendship of ASEAN among its citizens. Looking at the popularity, success and impact of the SEA Games, it’s high time for the public service of the AMS to capitalize the power of sports in building and strengthening the network among its officials. The 5-day games are open to public servants of AMS, and it is estimated that each contingent will comprise a maximum of 60 participants including athletes and officials. The aim of the ACSG is to improve friendship, networking and understanding among the public servants of the AMS through sports. We hope that the ACSG will be the catalyst towards promoting healthy lifestyle and sporting culture particularly among the public servants of the AMS.
