On 11 May, we celebrated Europe Day together with European Union in Malaysia and the Members States represented in Malaysia. Remembering the anniversary of the Schuman declaration that laid the foundations of our integration, guest could have a look into the Member States’ unique characteristics at the country booths. At the Hungarian booth, techniques and tricks about Rubik's cube – one of the great Hungarian inventions – were presented by the Malaysia Cube Sports Association, and guests could get to know to the tasty Rollney, the local version of the famous Hungarian chimney cake dessert. Thank you EUDEL for the organisation and everyone who visited our booth! 🇭🇺 🇪🇺

Team Hungary attended the KL Car Free Morning on 10th of May 2026 where our colleagues participated in a 5 km run and Ambassador Sipos donated a teqball table to Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur in the presence of Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of the Federal Territories and Malaysia Teqball Association - MTA. This prestigious event offered the possibility to raise the awareness about Hungary’s own innovative sport innovation called teqball.

On the margins of KL Car Free Morning Team Hungary also had a friendly demo match with DBKL.

Stay tuned for the rematch!⚽️

Ambassador Sipos had the honour to be welcomed by Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Premier of Sarawak in his office during his visit to Kuching at the end of April. The fruitful discussion considered the past, present and future of the relations: from János Xantus, a 19th-century explorer from Hungary in Borneo, through the upcoming event in Kuching remembering the 200th anniversary of his birth to future joint cultural projects. Ambassador also had the opportunity to meet Acting Deputy Director Ms Yasmin Khalid Nicholls at the Borneo Cultures Museum, Dr. Sharzede Datu Hj Salleh Askor, CEO of Sarawak Tourism Board as well as Haji Japri Bujang Masli, CEO of the Sarawak State Library. We are looking forward to continue the dialogue and implement the many ingenious projects discussed! For more information about the visit check the article of The Borneo Post. 😉
