Unplanned roadblock at Taman Negeri Pahang🐘🚫

Catching one of the park’s majestic Asian Elephants stepping onto the path before heading down for its river bath was an absolute core memory.

Deep inside this ancient forest rainforest, these gentle giants spend a huge chunk of their day swimming and cooling off in the hidden river systems. Pure magic to see them up close! ✨

⚠️WILDLIFE SAFETY REMINDER: Always remember that these are completely wild animals. If you are lucky enough to spot them on the trails or roads at Taman Negeri Rompin, keep a safe distance, stay calm inside your vehicle and do not make sudden loud noises. Let them have the right of way!

Meet Neplila pilipes (now known as Trichonephila pilipes), one of the largest orb-weaving spiders you’ll encounter in the rainforest. Despite impressive size, it’s harmless to humans and plays an important role in keeping the forest ecosystem in balance.
