10 March 2026 - Malaysia’s University Centralised Admission System (MyCAS) Engagement Session (SLU) through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) was held on 10 March 2026 at DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside. This session was organised by the Higher Education Internationalisation Division (BPPT), Department of Higher Education (JPT) in collaboration with Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
This session was chaired by YBhg. Datuk Professor Dr. Azlinda binti Azman, Director General of Higher Education, together with YBrs. Encik Novie bin Tajudin, Chief Executive Officer of EMGS. Also present were representatives of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), divisional directors in the Department of Higher Education, Vice-Chancellors and Deputy Vice-Chancellors of public universities and government-linked universities, representatives of private higher education institution associations and representatives of state higher education institutions.
This session is the first Engagement Session (SLU) held following the higher education transformation agenda in the 2025 Mandate by the YB Minister of Higher Education on 9 January 2025 which outlined the Centralization of International Student Admissions. The development of the MyCAS system is a centralized international student admissions initiative that aims to coordinate and facilitate the application process for admission to higher education institutions in Malaysia through an integrated platform. The implementation of this system is expected to improve the efficiency of the application process, strengthen the governance of international student admissions and improve the user experience for higher education institutions and international students. The organization of this session is an important platform to obtain views, feedback and suggestions from various stakeholders, thus ensuring that the development of the MyCAS system can meet the needs of higher education institutions, government agencies and international students as a whole. This initiative is also in line with efforts to strengthen Malaysia's position as a globally competitive international higher education hub.
