𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀
It was stated recently that diabetes is one of the principal causes of death in Malaysia. In fact, some sources also stated that Malaysia has the highest ranking in diabetes in Southeast Asia. Hope Place visited a couple in Kampung Tabuan Melayu, both of whom has long term diabetes and, because of this disease, are unable to generate income for the family😔.
He lives in Kampung Tabuan Melayu with his wife and three schooling children. He used to work with Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) and, after retiring, became a fisherman🚣. A long time diabetic, he takes oral medication daily and has his diabetes under control.
His wife was also recently diagnosed with diabetes. Currently at home, she is still recovering and uses a wheelchair👩🦽➡️. Thus, their son works part-time, after school at a coffee shop nearby. He son barely earns enough to keep the whole family afloat, especially with all the medical expenses.
He is thankful that he recently received monthly financial aid of RM500 from social welfare. Hope Place is supporting the family with basic food aid and school supplies for the children📦💕🥫.
糖尿病夫妻照顾三名在学子女
据近期报道，糖尿病是马来西亚的主要死亡原因之一。有资料也指出，马来西亚的糖尿病患病率在东南亚名列前茅。希望之家近日探访了Kampung Tabuan Melayu的一对夫妻。夫妻俩长期患有糖尿病，因此无法正常工作和赚取收入来维持家庭生计😔。
这名男子与妻子及三名仍在求学的孩子住在甘榜达万马来村。他过去曾在公共工程局工作，退休后便转行当渔夫🚣。他长期患有糖尿病，每天服用口服药物，目前病情控制良好。
他的妻子最近也被诊断患有糖尿病。她仍在家中休养，出行需要依靠轮椅👩🦽➡️。由于家庭经济负担沉重，他们的儿子只能在放学后到附近的咖啡店兼职，赚取微薄的收入，勉强维持一家人的生活，尤其还需要承担各种医疗开销。
值得庆幸的是，这个家庭最近获得了社会福利局每月 RM500 的援助。希望之家也为他们提供基本粮食援助及学校用品，协助孩子们继续求学，减轻这个家庭的生活负担📦💕🥫。
