ANAK was proud to be part of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia (APPGM) - Child Rights session yesterday, represented by our Policy and Advocacy Officer, Aime Marisa. The session focused on the recent Malaysia CRC Review in Geneva (January 2026), translating international child rights standards into meaningful local action.
We were honoured to engage in these critical discussions alongside YB Puan Hajah Rodziah (Ampang), YB Datuk Larry Sng (Julau), YB Datuk Hajah Siti Aminah (Beaufort), YB Mumtaz (Tumpat), and YB Senator Tuan Mohd Hasbie.
For ANAK, the priority remains clear: harmonising laws to protect all children, including marginalised and stateless children in Sabah and for the Social Worker's Bill to be expedited and include public and private sectors. Seeing our leaders prioritise child-friendly policies gives us great hope for the future.
As Malaysia engages with the CRC Committee and demonstrates its commitment to the review process and the advancement of child rights, we are encouraged by the momentum this creates. We hope to see stronger protections, meaningful reforms, and tangible improvements in the lives of children across the country in the coming years ahead, because every child matters, and every child counts.
