A sewn bit of Penang you can carry home.

In our Gift Shop you'll find playful pouches, bags and soft keepsakes sewn by women through Komuniti Tukang Jahit (KTJ), an accredited social enterprise that helps low-income mothers and home-based makers across Malaysia build their sewing skills and their income.

Each design borrows from local flavours: a bowl of cendol, plump ang ku kueh, a cheerful three-tier tiffin, a Nyonya kebaya cat, batik that feels like a market morning. Colourful and quietly meaningful, every piece supports someone's livelihood.

These gliding forest dwellers are night creatures, so spotting one during our Forest Bathing Walk was a rare treat. Nesh, our Night Walk guide, says it's an adult male, probably woken by a loud noise, or simply needing a mid-day toilet break.

Come walk with us: a slow, calming Forest Bathing Walk by day, or an adventurous Night Walk when the colugos are properly up. Spice Fam members get special rates.

Our Dream Potions Workshop with Kerry invites children (and the grown-ups too) into the sensory world of herbs and edible flowers through smell, touch, colour and story, and making a ‘dreamy’ potion to take home with them.

It is nature education at its most playful: part science, part folklore, part quiet magic under the trees. And an extraordinary experience.

NEW DATES OUT — Night walks at the Garden are a crowd favourite with good reason. Firstly, you’re taken on a journey by Nesh, a local who’s both passionate and knowledgeable about wildlife. Secondly, there’s so much to see out here when day turns to night!

No two nights are the same - all you need to bring along with you is a sense of openness and wonder, and the Garden will inevitably unravel its hidden beauty through the darkness.
