🧬 STEM CELLS vs EXOSOMES: Are They Really the Same?
Are exosomes simply a cheaper version of stem cells? The answer is NO. They are biologically different and serve different roles.
🔬 What are stem cells?
Stem cells are living cells with the potential to self-renew and develop into specialised cell types, depending on the type of stem cell and its biological properties. Certain stem-cell therapies are established for specific medical conditions.
✨ What are exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny extracellular vesicles released by cells. They carry biological signals, including proteins, lipids and RNA, that may influence how other cells communicate and respond.
💡 Think of it this way:
📱 Stem cells are like the phone.
✉️ Exosomes are like the messages the phone sends.
One is a living cell; the other is a cell-derived package of biological signals.
⚠️ So, which is better?
There is no universal answer. The appropriate approach depends on the medical condition, available clinical evidence, product quality, safety and regulatory status. Many proposed exosome treatments remain investigational, and exosomes should not be assumed to replace stem-cell therapy.
✅ Make informed decisions. Always seek assessment and advice from a qualified medical professional before considering any regenerative treatment.
At AmCen — Beyond Testing, we believe scientific understanding and evidence-based decisions should come before treatment trends.
