Kiyotsukyo or Kyotsu Gorge, one of three grand gorges of Japan, fascinates visitors with its sheer rocky cliffs rising on both sides of the river.
The gorge also attracts tourists with a breathtaking artwork named "Tunnel of Lights" by Ma Yansong & MAD Architects, created for the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. Many capture Kiyotsu Gorge's reflection on the water covering the tunnel floor.
