🇹🇭 Thailand Strengthens Public–Private Cooperation to Enhance Economic Competitiveness

On 15 May 2026, the Thai Government held a high-level discussion with leading CEOs and representatives from key industries to exchange views on strengthening Thailand’s economic competitiveness amid global challenges.

The discussions focused on infrastructure, clean energy, AI and digital upskilling, tourism, finance, modern agriculture, and support for SMEs. The Government also reaffirmed its commitment to closer public–private cooperation to drive sustainable economic growth.

Centennial Commemoration Ceremony in Honour of Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni, Queen Consort of King Rama VII

On 22 May 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo held a commemorative ceremony in honour of Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni, Queen Consort of King Rama VII, on the occasion of the centennial recognition of Her Majesty’s royal contributions and duties. UNESCO also recognised Her Majesty’s contributions in the fields of education, sustainable social development, and gender equality.

Ms. Suchanaree Taranatham, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo, presided over the ceremony and led embassy official and spouse in paying respects before Her Majesty’s portrait and commemorating Her Majesty’s gracious contributions to the Thai people.

เมื่อวันที่ 13 พฤษภาคม 2569 นายบัญชา ยืนยงจงเจริญ รองอธิบดีกรมการกงสุล/ว่าที่เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงมาปูโต และคุณพรรณพิไล ใบหยก ที่ปรึกษา Thai Mozambique Trade Association สมาคมการค้าไทย-โมซัมบิก ร่วมหารือกับผู้แทนภาคเอกชนไทย ได้แก่ บริษัท Vee Rubber Group และ K.K.B. BANPONG CO.,LTD ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทไทยที่มีศักยภาพและมีความสนใจขยายตลาดสู่ทวีปแอฟริกา โดยบริษัท Vee Rubber Group เป็นผู้ผลิตยางรถยนต์ชั้นนำของไทย ซึ่งดำเนินธุรกิจครอบคลุมการผลิตยางสำหรับรถจักรยาน รถจักรยานยนต์ รถยนต์นั่ง รถกระบะ รถยนต์อเนกประสงค์ ตลอดจนยางสำหรับเครื่องจักรและยานพาหนะทางการเกษตร ส่วนบริษัท K.K.B.BANPONG CO.,LTD เป็นผู้ผลิตอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ สำหรับติดกับรถไถการเกษตรเพื่อไถ ปรับหน้าดิน เก็บเกี่ยวอ้อย และรถอีแต๋นสำหรับขนส่งผลผลิตทางการเกษตรที่รองรับน้ำหนักได้ไม่เกิน 1.5 ตัน ซึ่งมีจุดเด่นด้านความทนทาน ใช้งานง่าย ราคาถูก บำรุงรักษาง่าย และรับประกันสินค้า 1 ปี ปัจจุบันได้รับความนิยมอย่างมากทั้งในประเทศไทยและประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน

นายบัญชาฯ นำเสนอแนวทางการดำเนินงานของสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ในการส่งเสริมและอำนวยความสะดวกให้คณะนักธุรกิจไทยจากหลากหลายสาขา อาทิ ภาคพลังงาน อุตสาหกรรมการเกษตร เครื่องจักรกลการเกษตร โลจิสติกส์ การท่องเที่ยวและบริการ เข้าร่วมงานแสดงสินค้าและอุตสาหกรรมนานาชาติกรุงมาปูโต (FACIM 2026) ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 31 สิงหาคม – 6 กันยายน 2569 ณ กรุงมาปูโต ภายใต้แนวคิด “Digital and Energy Transformation Toward a Sustainable Economy” เพื่อใช้โมซัมบิกเป็นประตูการค้าและการลงทุนสู่ภูมิภาคแอฟริกาตอนใต้ โดยเฉพาะประเทศในกลุ่ม SADC นายบัญชาฯ ยังได้กล่าวถึงกรอบความร่วมมือ Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI) ซึ่งรัฐบาลไทยผลักดันเพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ การค้า และการพัฒนาร่วมกับประเทศในทวีปแอฟริกา โดยมุ่งเน้นการสร้างเครือข่ายระหว่างภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และภาควิชาการ ตลอดจนการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านเกษตรกรรม เทคโนโลยีอาหาร พลังงาน และอุตสาหกรรมที่ไทยมีศักยภาพ ทั้งนี้ โมซัมบิกถือเป็นประเทศยุทธศาสตร์สำคัญที่ไทยให้ความสนใจ เนื่องจากมีศักยภาพด้านทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ การเกษตร พลังงาน และระบบคมนาคมเชื่อมโยงประเทศเพื่อนบ้านในภูมิภาค

นายบัญชาฯ ย้ำบทบาทของกรมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ (TICA) ซึ่งอยู่ระหว่างการผลักดันโครงการความร่วมมือด้านการเกษตรกับโมซัมบิก อาทิ โครงการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ด้านการเพาะปลูกข้าวอย่างยั่งยืน การใช้เครื่องจักรกลการเกษตรขนาดเล็กที่เหมาะสมกับเกษตรกรรายย่อย การสาธิตเทคโนโลยีการเกษตร และการพัฒนาศักยภาพเกษตรกรในพื้นที่ ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนาระหว่างไทยกับโมซัมบิกในลักษณะ South-South Cooperation ที่มุ่งเน้นผลลัพธ์เชิงรูปธรรม

ทั้งนี้ ทั้งสองบริษัทได้แสดงความสนใจเข้าร่วมออกบูธในงาน FACIM 2026 เพื่อขยายตลาดของบริษัทสู่ทวีปแอฟริกา รวมถึงโมซัมบิก ซึ่งมีประชากรกว่า 34 ล้านคน โดยประชาชนส่วนใหญ่ประกอบอาชีพในภาคเกษตรกรรม รองลงมาคือภาคการค้า การประมง และภาคบริการ ทำให้สินค้าและเทคโนโลยีจากไทย โดยเฉพาะเครื่องจักรกลการเกษตร อุปกรณ์สนับสนุนการเกษตร และผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับภาคคมนาคมและโลจิสติกส์ มีศักยภาพที่จะช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการผลิต ลดต้นทุน และสร้างรายได้ให้แก่เกษตรกรโมซัมบิกได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม รวมทั้งสามารถต่อยอดสู่การเป็นศูนย์กระจายสินค้าไทยในภูมิภาคแอฟริกาตอนใต้ในอนาคตได้อีกด้วย

(PT) Embaixada Real da Tailândia em Maputo incentiva o sector privado tailandês a explorar o mercado moçambicano

No dia 13 de Maio de 2026, o Sr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Vice-Director-Geral do Departamento dos Assuntos Consulares e Embaixador Designado da Tailândia em Mocambique, juntamente com a Sra. Pannpilai Baiyoke, Conselheira da Associação Comercial Tailândia–Moçambique, reuniu-se com representantes do sector privado tailandês, nomeadamente Vee Rubber Group e K.K.B. BANPONG CO., LTD., empresas tailandesas com elevado potencial e interesse em expandir os seus negócios para o continente africano.

A Vee Rubber Group é uma das principais fabricantes de pneus da Tailândia, produzindo pneus para bicicletas, motorizadas, automóveis ligeiros, carrinhas pickup, veículos utilitários desportivos (SUV), bem como pneus para máquinas e veículos agrícolas. Por sua vez, a K.K.B. BANPONG CO., LTD. fabrica diversos equipamentos acopláveis a tractores agrícolas para lavoura, nivelamento de terrenos, colheita de cana-de-açúcar e veículos agrícolas do tipo “E-Tan”, destinados ao transporte de produtos agrícolas com capacidade até 1,5 toneladas. Os produtos destacam-se pela sua durabilidade, facilidade de utilização, baixo custo, manutenção simples e garantia de um ano, sendo actualmente muito populares na Tailândia e nos países vizinhos.

O Sr. Bancha apresentou a estratégia da Embaixada para promover e facilitar a participação de delegações empresariais tailandesas de vários sectores, incluindo energia, agro-indústria, maquinaria agrícola, logística, turismo e serviços, na FACIM 2026, que terá lugar entre os dias 31 de Agosto e 6 de Setembro de 2026, em Maputo, sob o tema “Digital and Energy Transformation Toward a Sustainable Economy”. A iniciativa visa utilizar Moçambique como porta de entrada para o comércio e investimento tailandês na África Austral, particularmente nos países da SADC.

O Sr. Bancha referiu igualmente a Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI), um quadro de cooperação promovido pelo Governo da Tailândia para reforçar a cooperação económica, comercial e de desenvolvimento com os países africanos. A iniciativa concentra-se na criação de redes entre governos, sector privado e instituições académicas, bem como na promoção da cooperação nas áreas da agricultura, tecnologia alimentar, energia e indústrias em que a Tailândia possui forte capacidade e experiência. Neste contexto, Moçambique é considerado um parceiro estratégico importante para a Tailândia em África, devido ao seu potencial em recursos naturais, agricultura, energia e conectividade logística com os países vizinhos da região.

O Sr. Bancha destacou ainda o papel da Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), que se encontra a impulsionar projectos de cooperação agrícola com Moçambique, incluindo a transferência de conhecimentos sobre cultivo sustentável de arroz, a introdução de maquinaria agrícola de pequena escala adequada aos pequenos agricultores, demonstrações de tecnologias agrícolas e programas de capacitação de agricultores locais. Estes projectos reflectem a cooperação prática para o desenvolvimento entre a Tailândia e Moçambique no âmbito da Cooperação Sul-Sul.

Ambas as empresas manifestaram grande interesse em participar na FACIM 2026 com o objectivo de expandir os seus mercados para África, incluindo Moçambique, país com mais de 34 milhões de habitantes. Considerando que a maioria da população trabalha no sector agrícola, seguido pelo comércio, pesca e serviços, os produtos e tecnologias tailandeses — especialmente maquinaria agrícola, equipamentos de apoio à agricultura e produtos ligados aos sectores dos transportes e logística — possuem elevado potencial para aumentar a produtividade, reduzir custos e gerar rendimento para os agricultores moçambicanos de forma concreta. Além disso, Moçambique poderá também evoluir para um futuro centro regional de distribuição de produtos tailandeses na África Austral.

(EN) On 13 May 2026, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs and Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Mozambique, together with Ms. Pannpilai Baiyoke, Advisor to the Thai–Mozambique Trade Association, held discussions with representatives of Thai private companies, namely Vee Rubber Group and K.K.B. BANPONG CO., LTD., both of which are Thai companies with strong potential and interest in expanding their businesses into the African market.

Vee Rubber Group is one of Thailand’s leading tire manufacturers, producing tires for bicycles, motorcycles, passenger cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, as well as machinery and agricultural vehicles. Meanwhile, K.K.B. BANPONG CO., LTD. manufactures a wide range of agricultural tractor attachments for ploughing, land leveling, sugarcane harvesting, and “E-Tan” farm utility vehicles capable of carrying loads of up to 1.5 tons. The company’s products are recognized for their durability, ease of use, affordability, low maintenance costs, and one-year warranty, and are currently highly popular in Thailand and neighboring countries.

Mr. Bancha presented the Embassy’s approach in promoting and facilitating the participation of Thai business delegations from various sectors, including energy, agro-industry, agricultural machinery, logistics, tourism, and services, at the FACIM 2026, scheduled to take place from 31 August to 6 September 2026 in Maputo under the theme “Digital and Energy Transformation Toward a Sustainable Economy.” The initiative aims to position Mozambique as a gateway for Thai trade and investment into Southern Africa, particularly the SADC region.

Mr. Buncha also highlighted the Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI), a framework promoted by the Thai Government to strengthen economic, trade, and development cooperation with African countries. The initiative focuses on building networks among governments, private sectors, and academic institutions, while promoting cooperation in agriculture, food technology, energy, and industries in which Thailand has strong expertise. In this regard, Mozambique is considered one of Thailand’s strategic partners in Africa due to its abundant natural resources, agricultural potential, energy sector, and transport connectivity with neighboring countries in the region.

Mr. Bancha further emphasized the role of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), which is currently advancing agricultural cooperation projects with Mozambique. These include sustainable rice cultivation knowledge transfer, the introduction of small-scale agricultural machinery suitable for smallholder farmers, agricultural technology demonstrations, and farmer capacity-building initiatives. Such projects reflect the practical nature of Thailand–Mozambique development cooperation under the framework of South-South Cooperation.

Both companies expressed strong interest in participating in FACIM 2026 in order to expand their businesses into Africa, including Mozambique, which has a population of more than 34 million people. As the majority of the population is engaged in agriculture, followed by trade, fisheries, and services, Thai products and technologies — particularly agricultural machinery, agricultural support equipment, and logistics-related products — have strong potential to help improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase income for Mozambican farmers in a tangible manner. Furthermore, Mozambique also has the potential to develop into a future distribution hub for Thai products in Southern Africa.
