What does it take to expand access to sexual and reproductive health services in Mozambique?
Today’s Ipas Moçambique Steering Committee brought together partners to look at what’s working, and what still needs to change. One thing is clear: progress depends on community-led action and stronger health systems that can deliver consistent, quality care.
Across Niassa, Nampula and Zambézia, this work is already making a difference. More women and girls are accessing services, more communities are engaging in dialogue, and more providers are equipped to deliver care that is respectful and rights-based.
But challenges remain, from supply constraints to barriers rooted in social norms. Addressing these requires continued coordination, investment, and a focus on systems that work for people.
Canada is working with Ipas Moçambique and partners to support this effort, with a shared goal: ensuring women and girls can make informed choices about their health and futures. .
