“Ask not what your country can do for you…” President John F. Kennedy's call to service ignited a spark that launched the Peace Corps in 1961. Pictured here is JFK shaking hands with some of the first Peace Corps Volunteers. His vision set the stage for a global movement that continues today. Today, more than 240,000 Volunteers have served alongside communities in 144 countries—contributing to transformation and lasting impact around the world one interaction at a time.
