A proper old polished buffalo. Estimated at 11 - 12 years old this tank of a bull butchered 1,096lbs clean carcass weight. Officially the heaviest bull I have hunted in a 26 year career. Trust me when I say it showed even when hit well.

A spectacularly unique bull spotted from the air on Waterberg Wilderness our Limpopo base. This area is home to the best free ranging non manipulated or line bred Kudu in South Africa. These bulls survive predation from Lion, Leopard and Wild dog from birth. A quota of only 5 bulls are allocated a season, so, if you are serious about hunting Kudu, talk to us.

Starting a series of my favorite pictures for the 2024 season. This Dugga boy definitely needs to be the one to start with. Bulls like this are absolute warriors. When it comes to true/honest hunting nothing destroys the legitimacy of what we do like inches. When all is said and done when we truly hunt inches are an absolute bonus! But don’t take my word for it ask those obsessed with it! 😂😂😂😂😂😜 Bulls like this have nothing to do with image not our’s anyway it is a true privilege to hunt them.

Praying for some cooler weather!! 😂😂😂 while late season proves to be excellent hunting in the Niassa Special Reserve hunters need to contend with higher than average temperatures!! Excellent time of year for plainsgame and Buffalo though!

The biggest bonus, is the sightings. Niassa is full of spectacular photographic opportunities for hunters and observers. A truly special place this.

Very nice old buff! We were very particular with regards to what we were after on this safari. Within the first 5 days we had passed on several Buff that would make many a hunter ecstatic, yet we stuck to our plan. In day 6 we got thrown a curve ball when Sonya developed a nerve problem in her right leg, we were now severely hampered in the amount of tracking we could do and I knew that we would have to pick a bull sooner rather than later. Well we know how the remainder of the story goes, as if it was destined to be we creeped up to two bulls in the Jesse, daylight was and hour and 15 away from saluting us, and we had no chance at creating an opportunity, all be it that Sonya and I were a mere 15 paces from these two bulls.
45minutes in these two decided to move, on their time, no rush, into a clearing laden with tall grass.
We flanked, working the wind. With a couple interesting manoeuvres and happenings in the middle it all came together with a single bellow to peak this bulls interest. The result a proper free roaming 12+ buff right on sunset. All of this the reward after 35+ miles of tracking from a lady huntress that went through a major back/hip operation a year ago.
